Finding a quiet hideaway in a bustling city is a difficult task. I am lucky enough to have found such a “safe haven”. Hours of school work, meetings, presentations, and more have there affect on me but when I need a break I head to Mugshots. Mugshots is a fairly new cafe, located on Farimount avenue across from the world famous Eastern State Prison. I enjoy nothing more then kicking back with my ice coffee, laptop, and a good book to clear my head.

Specifically, reading at Mugshots takes me away from all the deadlines in my life. The latest book I have finished is The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman.
If you want a detailed view on globalization in the 21st century read this book. If you want a book that will put you to sleep, read my accounting book. In all seriousness, however, I think every student needs to find their own “safe haven” where they may peacefully turn off their phone and relax while thinking of absolutely nothing in particular.
As this if my first entry I figured I would give a small outline of what I hope to post and talk about in the upcoming future. This is my first real blog so I am new to the game, but I hope to give some sort of insight into my life, however interesting or boring it really is. In coming weeks and months I hope to begin a monthly posting of some of Philly's best hidden places to eat. Eventually I want to bring you along with me on random trips to destination spots around the city. Philadelphia has a great history and many exciting locations to visit. Finally, this summer I will be blogging from Rome for six weeks. I have exciting trips planned in Europe including a “football” match in Switzerland, which will be quite an experience. I look forward to sharing my activities with you, the reader, whomever you may be. Thanks for reading and always feel free to leave a post!
