Good Morning

It's been a crazy week and it's only Tuesday! I have had 2 tests and still have 3 papers a test and a presentation to go! I will be glad when Friday arrives. On that note, lets reminisce about the weekend...

This last weekend a few of my high school friends came in from out of town to see where I go to school. (Finally, after 4 years!) We had a great time going to some Schreiner events like Pearl Ball and one of the soccer games. We also went out to Fredericksburg which is just a 20 minute drive to the North. It's a neat town with lots of stores, German food and live music.

Anyway I should get back to studying.

Wish me luck this week... i'm going to need it!

Midterms, really?!

I just got back from Austin City Limits Music Festival! It was pretty much awesome but I was exhausted by the time I got back. 3 days, 8 stages, 150 bands = crazy fun. I also caught what we named the ACL Lung. There was so much dirt and dust in the air from all the people moving around, you start coughing up mud after a few hours. It’s pretty awful after you have been out there for three days straight.

On a completely different note, so here I am already over a month into my senior year and we are already having midterm exams beginning this week! I did well on my first round of tests, so maybe I can relax a bit and not let midterms stress me out too much.

It seems like I just got back to Schreiner like a week ago. It’s unbelievable how quick time goes by when you stay busy. I have been dabbling a bit in Real Estate, car sales, Medical Sales among other things and hopefully lining up a position in at least one of them before graduation.

Well that’s my life lately. Just busy busy busy.

Until next time…

Long Weekend

Hello everyone... I want to first send my thoughts and prayers out to anyone who has been affected by Hurricane Ike. My family has a home in Galveston and we have not heard anything on the condition of it or even the area. At least they are safe, as that is the most important thing.

On a lighter note, I went to Austin this weekend. It's just a quick hour and a half trip up the road from Kerrville (through the most beautiful parts of the state). I got to see my family and hang out with some friends from high school. It was nice to see everyone and good to de-stress from school.

Speaking of school - it's going well. My classes are challenging but interesting at the same time. Once you get to your senior year, the courses you take are more targeted towards your specific major. With Schreiner's 13:1 student to faculty ratio, you really get to know everyone in your major, professors and students alike. So although the classes are difficult, I am enjoying them and I have plenty of support from my professors and friends.

I need to get back to studying.

Oh... Leave me a comment! Let me know someone is out there and i'm not just writing to no one! :)

New Year, New Blog

Well after a busy busy summer, I am back in full swing as a Senior!

I want to tell you a bit about my summer internship and my schedule this semester.

About a year ago I get a phone call from the owner of a medical transcription/court reporting company in Austin. She was interested in having me work over the summer in sales and marketing. Honored by the opportunity, of course I accepted. So from May 12-July 26 I built relationships and networking opportunities that will last throughout my professional life. At the end, I could look back and see how much I learned and I got a formal job offer after I graduate!

This semester I am taking 21 hours! Holy crazy schedule! My classes are -

Management
Entrepreneurship
Advertising
Statistics
Art
Professional Internship

Well as you can see, I need to go study so that's all for now!

Hello All

Hi everyone.

Sorry it has taken me so long to catch up to the other bloggers. This has been a very busy last few weeks for me. Anyway, I want to tell you a bit about myself.

My name is Cody Julian and I am from Houston, Tx. I graduated from Taylor High School in 2005 and came to Schreiner as a freshman. I am a Business - Marketing major and on track to graduate in May 2009. I am relatively active here at SU. I am President of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Executive Vice President of Student Senate, a Schreiner Ambassador, and I participate in other clubs and organizations.

I enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, running, and pretty much anything else outdoors.

Gotta go to class. Have a great day.
