Happy November!!!

So I am in a crazy Jack Johnson faze so here are some lyrics of a great and I mean great Jack Johnson song called Banana Pancakes! I thought these lyrics are poignant since we have had a ton of rain these past couple of weeks! Enjoy!

But baby, you hardly even notice
When I try to show you
this song It's meant to keep you
From doin' what you're supposed to
Like wakin' up too early
Maybe we could sleep in
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it's the weekend now

And we could pretend it all the time
Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

Hello again!

Happy November and Happy Belated Halloween! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween! I know I had a great time. My roommates and I got to dress up and hang out with friends. It is pretty sad because this is my last college Halloween :( . It is crazy that I am graduating this year. I have had the same great group of friends since Freshman Year (we all lived on the 1st floor of Washinton Hall)!!

Here is a picture of the crew:

Anyway, what else is going on in my life? Oh Yeah, Mid-terms were last week (woo hoo...not). They actually weren't soo bad. I am only taking four classes this semester because I managed my time wisely in the past four years (which I strongly recommend!! hint hint) so I get to have an "easy" senior year. Don't get me wrong the classes are still challenging but it is nice to only have to focus on four instead of five or six! I have recieved my Mid-term grades and they are all A's and B's which is a great start. I am going to work really hard to make them all A's by Finals so wish me luck!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that SNHU is having an Open House on Saturday November 7th and there are over 500 possible students expected to attend! That is amazing! If any of my readers are planning on attending, I am looking forward to seeing you there!!!!!

Well that's all for now!

Talk to you again soon!

Back to the Grind...After Waking Up in VEGAS!

Hey all!

Please please please check of James Morrison's song "You Make It Real For Me." It is rediculously good, especially if you are going through some rough times. Trust me, you will love it.

Welcome to my SENIOR YEAR at SNHU!! I have to say senior year has brought on two major emotions--Excitement and fear!! I can't believe I am actually a senior in college. I honestly never thought this day would come even though it went by soo fast. I am so excited to be starting a new chapter in my life and so terribly afraid of starting a new chapter of my life! ok ok before I get all crazy (there will be plenty of time for my crazy talk in April and May :( ), let me catch you up on things around here.

I am still living on campus in a townhouse with my twin sister and two of our best friends! We are all seniors and loving every minute of it.

SNHU is pretty much the same; however, the new academic buliding just opened this September and its beautiful. The new Student Center aka Cafeteria should be open after Winter Break. I am pretty intrigued to see what they are going to include in this new building! You will just have to keep reading and when I know, you will know!

I have been bombarded with school work but it is just because it is the beginning of the year and I am so not used to doing any type of homework. I will get used to it again... probably by May! haha

I actually just got back from spending 5 days in Las Vegas!! It was so amazing. I definitely recommend you go at least once in your lifetime (after you turn 21)! There was soo much to see and do. I went with my sister, Liz, and our friend and roommate, Rachel. Rachel's father's company attends a trade show in Vegas every year and this year we were all invited. Here are some pictures from the trip:

Rachel, me, and Liz in front of the Famous Bellagio Fountains

Me and Rachel at the Mirage Hotel's zoo!
mirage%20hotel.jpg

Me, Rachel, and Liz in front of the Paris Hotel
paris%20hotel.jpg

We even made the trip educational by checking out The Hoover Dam and Lake Mead!

We also saw the most amazinh show ever!! It was Cirque De Soiel's Love. It was a show based around the Beetles Love album. Even if you aren't a super fan of the Beetles, the show was still worth seeing. It was beautiful and amazing to watch. I could have gone to see it every night and would have enjoyed it just as much.

Well, I think this is where this entry must end. I must stop procrastinating and get some homework done. Talk to you all soon!

xoxo,
Em

P.S -- just to let everyone know, my New York Giants have a record of 5-0!! We take on the Saints Sunday at 1:00pm. I hope by 5:00pm on Sunday we are 6-0!! ;)

It's Finals Week!!

I would dig a hole all the way to China
unless of course I was there
and I'd dig my way home.
If by digging I could steal
The wind from the sails of the greedy men who ruled the world.
Still you're my best friend
and after a good, good drunk
you and me wake up and make love
after a deep sleep where I was dreaming
I was dreaming of a

Dreamgirl
Dreamgirl
Dreamgirl (Yeah)
Dreamgirl

I was feeling like a creep as I watched you asleep
face down in the grass in the park in the middle of hot afternoon
Your top was untied and I thought how nice it'd be to follow the sweat down your spine.
You're like my best friend
Oh, after a good good drink
you and me wake up and make love
after a deep sleep where I was dreaming
I was dreaming of a

Dreamgirl (yeah)
Dreamgirl
Dreamgirl (yeah)
Dreamgirl

Caught by a wave my back to the ocean.
It knocks me off my feet and
just as I find my footing
here you come again!

Dreamgirl, oh
Dreamgirl (mumble man)
The deep end...

DreamGirl by Dave Matthews Band!! Awesome song... You Tube it!!!

Hey all,

So it is finals week (as you can probably tell from my lack of posts)!!! Everyone is cracking down and kicking themselves for procrastinating for the past couple of weeks. I am in good shape though. In the past three years, this is by far the easiest finals week I have had. I have one final on Monday, 2 on Tuesday (but one is a take home final, so all i have to do is hand it in on Tuesday), and one on Wednesday... then.... I am officially finished with my Junior Year!!!!!

That is an insane thought to think about. I have to say goodbye to alot of my friends who are seniors, especially one of my best friends, Tanya, and my boyfriend, Erik. We have spent the last 3 years together and I can't believe it is over. Tanya, who I met my very first day at SNHU, was a part of the 3-year business program, and after graduation, is moving on to go to law school in the fall. She is excited to move on with her life but upset that she is leaving and packing up her room for the last time :(. It's pretty sad but we all know we will stay as close as were are evern if she isn't living in the room next to me next year. And Erik, well i don't really want to talk about having to say goodbye to him again... it makes me kinda sad... so.. um... moving on...

I am going to be relieved when finals week is over; however, I am going to be sad too. I hate change and I hate to say goodbye so this week of moving back home and saying goodbye to my friends will not be so fun for me. I know I will make it through though.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone. College goes by in a flash!! Honestly, don't take it for granted because it will be over before you know it.

Hope all of you have a great end of the school year!! Talk to you soon!

xoxox,
Em

Whew!!

So I saw the critically acclaimed, academy award nominated movie Doubt a few days ago.

doubt.jpg

It had so much hype that I figured I had to see it.. and well that is all it was... Hype! I didn't really like it. I feel like I shouldn't say that because of all the prise this movie is recieving but oh well... I said it... I didn't like it!! The actors and actresses in the movie are very talented and were very good but the movie was boring to me. I need more action and there was just a lot of talking. So here is my two sense for today. Save your four dollars at blockbuster and rent something else.. like.. say... Transformers! (the new one if coming out in the Summer!! I am soo excited and yes I am a huge nerd! :) )

Hey All,

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I have been crazy busy with homework and school in general. This week is going to be very busy for me as well. My boyfriend, as I might have mentioned, is a Lacrosse player here at SNHU. He has three games this week (today at Merrimack @ 7:00p.m and two Home Games Wednesday and Saturday)!! So like a good girlfriend, I am going to all of these games. I need to make sure I get all of my work done so I can actually go to these games. This is where my organizational skills come into play!

Saturday is also a big day for the SNHU campus! The Senior Men's Lax Game is Saturday as well as SNHU Stock. SNHU stock is held once a year and it is pretty much one big party. SNHU hires professional and local bands to play as well as other attractions like a dunk tank. It should be very fun. Barefoot Truth is playing (really good band!!!) as well as my friend Dave's Band--Hope Lane is a Dead End. I will let you all know how it goes in my next blog.

Well, until then,

Byezzz

One week down... Five more to go!!

I know I usually start off each Blog with a little new fact or song or some other tidbit of information that I find interesting so here you go...

I have a new favorite song!! (Yes, I have a new favorite song every week but, hey, I like music what can I say!)... Check out The Script "The man who can't be moved". They are a band from Ireland and kinda sound like John Legend. It sounds weird but I like them and this song, so if you are bored, Check it out!!

Hey All,

Well, one week down, five more to go in the school year! I honestly can't believe my junior year is almost over. It is crazy how fast college flies by. However, I have loved every minute of it!!! ok, except for the homework part :) !

Anyway, this past week, I have pretty much been trying to stay on top of all the end of the year homework that has been piling on. Sometimes you can get overwhelmed and think there are not enough hours in the day to get all of your work done but trust me, a good deep breath and some determination does a college student good. I have been perfecting my homework habits since Freshman Year and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to share some of them with you...

1) Do you homework where you are comfortable. Sometimes people (like myself) can't work in a quiet room, like the library, or an incredibly noisy room, like the cafeteria. I tend to do my homework in my apartment because that is where I can put on my sweatpants and feel incredibly "at home" and comfortable. It's your choice but don't study or do homework anywhere where you are not comfortable and can't concentrate.

2) Keep a running To Do List! I make To Do Lists for everything but especially for homework. Whenever you get a new assignment, make sure you add it to your list or a calendar that you look at daily. This will help you to stay on top of assignments and not have to pull the dreaded "ALL NIGHTERS" that people always relate to college. (I have never pulled an all nighter! and yes I am proud of that).

3) Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today! Trust me, in college something always comes up and throws off your groove. If you are sitting around, watching tv, try to get some work done. This will be helpful when a new, fun activity comes up and you want to go. You will get your work done early so you will have more free time to do the fun stuff!!

Well, I hope these tips are useful to you because I know they help me. Anyway, this weekend is Easter and yes I am NOT going home :( . I guess that is the price I have to pay for living 6 hours away. I will tell you guys all about it next week!

Until Then... Bye!!!

Em :)

Beach, Sand, Surf, & Sunshine --- Spring Break 09!!!

"At the beach, Just Another Day in Paradise!!!"

Hey all,

So it is that time of year again... SPRING BREAK!!! Well, for my old readers, my last spring break was less than eventful. I spent the week in Bayonne, NJ (my hometown) doing pretty much nothing. Well, this spring break was very different. Six friends and I decided to take a trip to... drum roll please... THE BAHAMAS!!

I started the planning in September and finally all the hard work came together on March 22nd!! We arrived in Nassau, Bahamas for a 5 day, 4 night relaxing vacation! It was amazing. We went to an all-inclusive resort that had its own private beach, pool, and jacuzzi. It was beautiful and when they say all-inclusive, they mean ALL-inclusive! I never took my money out the entire trip. It was awesome!

We sat on the beach...

went into downtown Nassau...

went in the jacuzzi...

and went to a casino!
group%20bahamas.jpg

As you can probably tell from the pictures, WE HAD A GREAT TIME! The worst part was having to leave. We are definitely planning a trip for spring break next year!!

Well, now I have to get back to the real world and that includes homework! Talk to you guys soon!!

St. Patty's Day!!

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day Everyone!!!

stpatrickssnoopyqv8.jpg

In honor of St. Patty's Day, you should all listen to John Mayer's "St. Patrick's Day". It's a great song and I think very fitting for this time of year. Here are a few lyrics just to get you in the mood...

"And come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?
and we'll both be safe till St. Patrick's Day"

So back to my life:

It has been a crazy semester so far. I have been super busy with classes, friends, the boyfriend, family, and much much more! Even though it has been stressful, it has definitely been so much fun.

I can't believe I am in my second semester of my Junior year already. It feels like just yesterday I was a freshman trying to make friends. It is scary to think that I have to grow up and enter the real world soon... ok, I just got a chill down my spine so let's change the subject...

In my last post, I mentioned that my friend Rachel just returned from studying abroad in Austriaila. She had a GREAT time!! However, she has been having a tough time getting back into the swing of things here. She was so used to her friends over there that she forgot how to relate to her friends at SNHU. I am mentioning this because I know a lot of you are going to have friends that study abroad and then come back to SNHU. I have a few words of wisdom for you:

1) Even though you expect everything to go back to normal, IT WON'T (well at least for a while). You have to let your friends get reacclamated to thier new surroundings. Trust me, they also have to get reacclamated to their old friends as well. Don't get mad. Just try to work things out. It will all be fine.

2) Let them talk about what a great time they had and what an awesome experience it was. They are still your friends so you need to let them brag for a while. It might get annoying or even hurtful if they keep going on and on about what great friends they made and how much they miss it and wish they could go back. But remember, they aren't saying this stuff to hurt you. It is just how they feel at the time. Be there for them and eventually they will stop bragging about it.

Well, this is it for me! I need to finish doing some homework. The next time I talk to you, I will be just arriving home from the BAHAMAS!! SPRING BREAK '09.... I am sooo excited!

Well Until Then,

xoxo

Winter Break

Hey all!!!

Merry Belated Christmas From My Family to Yours!!

christmas2.jpg

Wow, it has been so long since I blogged. As you can probably tell I have been super busy with school, but I'm Back!! So let me start by giving you a recap.

My name, for any new readers, is Emily White and I am a Junior at SNHU. I am a Convention and Event Management Major and live on campus in one of the 6 person apartments. I have a twin sister, who is my roommate and also another SNHU blogger. I am from Bayonne, New Jersey.

Ok so enough background, lets get to the good stuff.

Last semester was interesting. I was taking 5 classes and working my butt off too keep my grades where I like them to be. Not to brag but I wound up ending that semester with a 3.9 GPA. I guess all of my hard work did pay off.

Even though I was working up a storm, I did not forget my friends and to tell you the truth we had some pretty awesome times. Last semester, I was living in the apartment with my sister, my best friends, Tanya and Amanda, as well as two international students, Vivian and Helen.

It was incredibly interesting to live with Vivian and Helen (the international students were from China and typically most international students choose American names to use). They were very nice yet quite. They tended to mostly stay in their room. It was definitly a new experience for me to be living with people that English wasn't their first language. Being from Jersey, I tend to talk really fast and have a thick Jersey accent so it was a challenge to try to slow down my speaking so that I could have conversations with my new roommates. However, it all did work out and we wound up having a very good semester.

Below is a picture of me and Vivian:
viv.jpg

Unfortunately, they both moved off campus in December, so this semester our friend Rachel is moving in because she is back from her semester in Austraila. I am sooo excited to have her living with us again. The old crew is almost all back! (Ashley, we still miss you!!).

As of now, It is almost the end of Winter Break. we had about a month of (from December 20th - January 20th). I head back to SNHU in 2 days and I am very excited yet not wanting to start doing homework again. After having a month to sit at home and do nothing, homework sounds like no fun at all. However, I am excited to see my friends and boyfriend again. A month is a long time to go without seeing your Best Friends, but we handle it. You will realize when you go to college that your college friends become your college family when you are a school. It is an awesome feeling!!

Well thats it for me!! Talk to you soon!!

XOXO,
Em

Spring Break.... in Bayonne!!

Since it is spring I thought I would give you some lyrics to my favorite upbeat song....

Its been a long, long time, yeah!
(stir it, stir it, stir it together)
Since I got you on my mind. (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) oh-oh!
Now you are here (stir it, stir it, stir it together), I said,
Its so clear
Theres so much we could do, baby, (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Just me and you.

Bob Marley - Stir It Up

Hello All,

IT IS SPRING BREAK!!!

Everyone expects college spring break to be a fabulous time away from school and family at a beach resort in Florida. Well these people must have LARGE bank accounts.I am spending my spring break in Bayonne, NJ ( my hometown) where the closest beach is about an hour away, however its still cold. I was supposed to go to Orlando, Florida with my sister and two of my best friends but then we all realized how expensive a trip like that can be. We were trying to be optimistic but we later realized that our optimisum wouldn't give us the $1000 to fly there. So now I am home in Bayonne spending my spring break with my family. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have it any other way.

My spring break started with me going to work. All four years of high school I worked for a family owned bakery in my town so I went back this year to help out during the holidays. My spring break continued with a family gathering for Easter Sunday. It was sooo much fun. I got an Easter basket (that my mom creates every year) and I got to hang out with family that I don't get to see too often because I am at school.

Today is my day to relax before embarking on my crazy schedule for the rest of my spring break. So I decided to blog today to let you all know what I am up to. So here is the timeline....

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment with a new dentist. I am quite scared I must admit but I'm sure I will be fine :( .

Wednesday, I will be spending the entire day in New York City searching for internship opportunities. I am an Event Planning major so my best bet to find a really good internship is to look in NYC. I have two interviews lined up so far so wish me luck!!

Thursday, I will be heading to Hoboken, NJ with my sister so she can visit her old boss and so I can go on another interview for another possible internship. Hopefully, they are impressed! :)

Friday looks somewhat free of plans (Thank God), but that could always change.

Saturday is my day to shop! In my Easter Basket my mom promised that she would take me shopping for some new spring clothes and really cute spring shoes ( my mom, my sister, and I share a love and passion for shoes. I know its strange but oh well ;) ).

Sunday, I am heading back to good ol' SNHU. Hopefully I will see some of you at Accepted Student's Day on April 5th. My sister and I will be at the Student Panel so come say hi.

Thats it for me! Hope to see you soon!

<3 Emily

Spring Semester is a Killa!!

Here is my "Fun Fact" for today:

awake.jpg

So last night I watched the movie Awake with Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen. The movie is about the phenomenon of anesthetic awareness. In all honestly, the movie was pretty good. When I saw the previews for it I thought it was going to be terrible, but I was wrong. It was actually extremely creepy, when Christensen is under anesthetia yet is still talking and discribing the pain he feels. So if you want a different movie to check out, rent Awake, I think you will enjoy it.

Hello Everyone!!

I know I know, Long time no post. I get it, but come on, you can't blame me. I'm a sophmore in college and it's the middle of spring semester. Between projects, homework, and midterms, I barely have time to sit down nevermind post a heartfelt blog. But here I am. I have actually found the time. YAY!! I'm sure you are all thrilled. hehe ;)

So my life, in a nutshell, has been.........BUSY!!! As I told you in my last post, I am working on an event for my special events management class. The class is awesome and I am getting some great hands-on experience. There is only one problem with hands-on experience....It's Stressful! My clients have a difficult time with sticking to one plan. They keep changing things on us so everytime we think we are two steps ahead, they yank us four steps back. Its just the nature of the beast, I guess. It all comes with the job. And can I get you in on a secret... I'm actually enjoying every minute of it. The stress, the smiles, the production, everything. It is definately my favorite class project ever. I can't wait to see the finished product. Its a month away so wish me luck! :)

In other news, this weekend, my friends and I celebrated my best friend, Ashley's, Birthday. We had a great time. We went to this habachi restaurant that is about 5 minutes from campus (It is right down the road from Hanaford's, for anyone who knows the area. And trust me, if you don't know the area, once you come to SNHU, you will be very acquainted with the Hanaford's area.). The place is called Shogun and it has great food. For those of you who don't know, Habachi food is where you order and a chef cooks your food right in front of you. I went with great people and I had a great time. HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!

SNHU men's lacrosse also had its first game yesterday. They lost 15-10 but they played Dowling College from Long Island and they are ranked 5th in the nation. Our boys put up a good fight though. Their next game is an away game at Pace University on March 22nd at 1:00pm. I'll keep you all posted on their schedule.

Well that is all for today. I have to get back to my Accounting Take Home Test. Wish me Luck!!

Talk to you soon,

Emily :)

Busy Busy Busy....

"You're a falling star
You're the getaway car
You're the line in the sand
When I go to far
You're the swimming pool
On an august day
And you're the perfect thing to say

And you play it coy but it's kinda cute
Oh when you smile at me you know exactly what you do
Baby don't pretend that you don't know it's true
Cause you can see it when I look at you

And in this crazy life
And through these crazy times
It's you
It's you
You make me sing
You're every line
You're every word
You're everything

You're a carousel
You're a wishing well
And you light me up
When you ring my bell
You're a mystery
You're from outer space
You're every minute of my every day

And I can't believe that I'm your man
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can
Whatever comes our way

We'll see it through
And you know that's what our love can do

And in this crazy life
And through these crazy times
It's you
It's you
You make me sing
You're every line
You're every word
You're everything

And so la la la la
So la la la la

And in this crazy life
And through these crazy times
It's you
It's you
You make me sing
You're every line
You're every word
You're everything

You're every song
And I sing along
Cause you're my everything

Yeah, yeah

So la la la la
So la la la la"

- Michael Buble - Everything : Best Song!!! I started off with this song because I am going to his concert in March and I can't wait. He is actually my sister's favorite singer. All of my roommates decided we would all go to the concert together. I will definately be letting you know how it is.

Hey Everyone!!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days but I have been incredibly busy!!

School has been good except I have crazy amounts of work (what do you expect, I'm in college!) Let me explain what is taking up most of my time....

I am Convention and Event Management major so one of the required classes is Special Events Management. It is taught by one of my favorite hospitality teachers, Dr. Monk. Our main project in the class is we had to spilt up into groups and find a client that woud be willing to let 5 to 6 college students plan an entire event for them. We would become their event planners. Most groups are have clients from SNHU and they are planning events for the SNHU campus, such as the RA banquet, but my group got a very challenging assignment. Our clients are the LSS - Lutheran Social Services of Concord. We our planning their first annual Global Gourmet Gala for 175 people. This is a real-life event and I am incredibly scared, but I have a really strong group and the ladies from LSS are soo nice that I think everything will come together perfectly. Our event is going to be on April 17th @ 5:30 at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate in Concord so as you can see we don't have much time to get this accomplished so all of the work involved has taken up all of my free time.

Anyway, in other news, Valentine's Day came and went and to tell you the truth, it doesn't matter if you have a significant other during this pointless holiday, it is still depressing and worthless. You are either sad that you don't have someone to spend it with or you are dissappointed that you didn't do what you wanted to do with your boyfriend/girlfriend. Ok, even of my complaining....

So, there you have it. My life has been pretty boring, but hopefully it will be more eventful soon.

Talk to you later!!

Emily :)

NEW YORK GIANTS WIN SUPERBOWL 42!!

superbowl.jpg

Apparently the Giants wanted it more!!!!!

eli.jpg
NEW YORK GIANTS WIN SUPERBOWL XLII !!!!!

I am from Bayonne, NJ and have been a New York Giants fan my entire life. This Superbowl was unexpected and amazing! Coming to school in New England, I knew I was going to be one of the only Giants fans around but I also knew I had to respresent my team. I stuck with all the critism from the New England Patriot fans and it paid off. Everyone doubted my team but they pulled it off and I am so thrilled.

I figured I would dedicate this blog entry to the Superbowl and My team--My New York Giants.

Here are some great pictures I have found and I thought I might share them with all of you....

David Tyree, a special teams player, had one touchdown catch and an amazing catch in the last 2 minutes that clutched the Superbowl Win for the Giants!!

Winter Break!!!!

"I feel home when I see the faces that remember my own
I feel home when I'm chillin outside with the people I know
I feel home, and that's just what I feel
Home, to me, is reality and all I need is something real"

- O.A.R - I Feel Home

Great Band!!. check them out Please!!.... I was with someone this past week who loves them so I figured I would share them with all of you.

Well now that you have seen my little bit of advice for the week, let's get down to business....

Helllllo everyone!!!

I am back in Jersey for Winter Break. I finished my last final on December 20th and have been home ever since. It has been very nice to be home and see my parents and friends from high school. Some more words of advice - Don't expect ALL of your friends to stay exactly the same as you remembered them. Everyone changes. Some for good, some for bad. The first winter break back home from college was the hardest. Everyone had different attitudes, beliefs, goals, friends, etc. It's hard to accept but you also realize who your true friends are. Anyway, enough of my preaching, back to my vacation.

Christmas came so fast this year. My sister and I had to work the 23rd, 24th, and 25th. I know what your thinking-- "Why would I work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?!?!?!" Well, when I was in high school, I worked for a bakery for four years. Our biggest lines and most crowded days were right before and during Christmas. To tell you the truth, I really needed the money. Going to college is an amazing experience, but it teaches you very quickly how fast your money just "disappears."

Other than the work load, Christmas Eve was nice. I got to see my whole family and give out and get presents. We had a great meal of many different kinds of food. Christmas Morning, well I should say Christmas Afternoon, was my favorite. After I got home from work, my mom, dad, my sister, and I sat around in our pjs and opened presents from each other. My favorite present had to be my New York Giants Finger I got from my dad. christmas.jpg
I am a HUGE NY Giants fan and my dad and I share that love. I used that finger when we went to the Giants vs. Pats game on Dec. 29th. Even though we lost (Only by 3, Thank you very much), I think the finger brought the Giants luck (I know I'm a loser but I can dream, can't I?).

Anyway, moving on, after the Giants game, the days were relatively low-key, except for the fact that my boyfriend, Erik, came to visit from Delaware. He was here for a week and my parents love him so I was happy. Ok where am I? Oh Right.... NEW YEAR'S EVE!! I had an Amazing New Years! Erik was in Jersey with me so we went to my friend Jill's house and hung out with all of my friends from high school. It was honestly great.
Here's a picture of all my girlfriends from high schoolnye.jpg

On Friday, Erik, my sister, our friend, Chris, and I went to New York City. Chris had never been to NYC before so we figured we would show him around, since we live only 30 minutes outside of the city by train. We saw the tree in Rockefeller Center!
Here is a pic of Me Chris and Liz in front of the tree!! markey%20in%20nyc.jpg
Here is me and Erik <3

And we went to the middle of times square. times%20square.jpg

We also went to the village to have dinner and found the coolest restaurant called Garage. It had a live jazz band and AMAZING food. Next time your in the city you should really check it out.

So now it brings me to this week. So far the only thing exciting going on this week is that my family and I are going to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway!! I'm so excited.
little-mermaid.jpg
I loved the Little Mermaid as a kid and my sister and I have a weird obsession with musical theater (Hey, I told you I was a loser, but I love me so I don't care).

Next week, I am planning on watching the Giants beat the Cowboys and make it into the third round of the playoffs and then go to Delaware to hang out with Erik and his family. :) It should be interesting!!

So there you have it, my winter break of my sophmore year!! Hope it was as interesting to read as it was to live. Enjoy!! I will talk to you when i'm back at SNHU!!!

See ya,
Emily

Another Semester Down :(

Hey all,

Well here I am again. Back at SNHU for my sophmore year! I am thrilled to be back and I can not believe how fast first semester has gone.

So lets recap,

I am now living in an on-campus apartment with my twin sister, Elizabeth, and three of our best friends. We are having a blast. It is great to be out of a regular two person dorm room. There are three bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, and kitchen. We all get along great so it is amazing to live together. edited%20whittier%2026.JPG
Here is a picture of my girls I love with. They are amazing!

Unlike last year, I am now a Convention and Event Management Major. I took 5 classes this semester, including Western Civilization I, Psychology, Microecomonics, Accounting, and Dimentions of Service Management (its a hospitality intro course). They weren't so bad. I had Dr. Cooper for my Western Civ. class and she is amazing. The class is difficult and takes a lot of work but you feel so accomplished when you get a good grade. I actually just found out that I got an A in the class. I am so excited that all of my hard work paid off.

I just finished taking all of my finals so technically my first semester is OVER! I really can't believe it. It went by so fast. I thought after Freshman year, college would start to go by a little slower but I was wrong. It goes by even faster.

I am heading back to New Jersey tomorrow morning and will be back January 21st to start my second semester at SNHU! I can't wait!

Talk to you soon! I have to finish packing :)

So here is my random fact for today:
Check out John Mayer's new CD - Continuum! It is amazing!! I can't stop listening to it. It got me through doing all of my finals work.

Wow these have been stressful weeks :-/

"It may be long to get me there
It feels like I've been everywhere
But someday I'll be coming home
Round and round the world will spin
Oh, the circle never ends
So you know that I'll be coming home"
- John Legend "Coming Home"

Hey everyone....

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but it has been a stressful two weeks. I've been focusing on school for the most part. It is "crunch" time in college terms. This is the time of year where you recieve every final paper and every review sheet imaginable.

Time-Management is key!!

I always knew that college work and finals week were going to be difficult but I never knew it was going to come around so quick. Ok so here's an idea of what I have to accomplish in the next two weeks:

- 10 page classical argument paper
- 8 page Information Technology Paper
- Statistics Project
- 5-7 page Sanitation Paper
- English final
- Marketing Final
- Sanitation/Security Final
- Statistics Final....

whew... yes i know what your thinking..... OH MY GOD!! because that is exactly what i'm thinking. I know I will get all of it done and to tell you the truth I don't really have a choice but now its just time to buckle down and bang out all this work.

Advice: Your last few weeks of school, you are going to want to spend as much time as you can with your new friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc., but don't! School comes first. Don't let all your work pile up until the last week just because you wanted to go out to dinner or you wanted to watch another movie with your friends.

Honestly, I can't believe the school year is almost over. I thought I was going to be excited to be finished with my first year of college and get to go home for a 4 month vacation, but to be completely honest, i'm really not. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my parents and my friends back home, but I have made another home here. I know it sounds so cheesy but it's true. I'm going to miss my dorm, my Massachusetts/New Hampshire friends, my freedom, etc. I'm glad, however, that I didn't take advantage of my college experience. Trust me, I made plenty of friends that didn't make it through their first year of college because they took it for granted. I'm proud that I stuck through it, made great friends, found a boyfriend, had fun, and still maintained a 3.5 GPA. College is an amazing experience if you are mature enough to handle it.

Anyway, my life isn't ALL about boring ol' school work. On Thursday I went to the John Legend concert in Boston at the Orpheium Theatre. He was AMAZING!! My friend Bryan and I went and I was soo happy to take a break from school stuff and just enjoy the show.

We had Great seats!

So anyway, other than that, I am pretty excited for this weekend because of the NFL Draft. I know what your thinking, why on earth am I excited about the draft? Well there is one simple answer........

I LOVE FOOTBALL!

Any Football fan will tell you that the draft is the start of their season. I'm so excited.

Well then that's all for now. I have to go and finishing writing my first draft for my classical argument paper. Talk to you soon.

First Easter in NH!

"One day can change your life. One day can ruin your life. All life is is three or four big days that change everything"

Ok so before i start my post, I watched a movie last night that was really good. It's called Riding in Cars with Boys. riding.jpg

Its kinda a chick flick so sorry guys, this advice is for the girls. It is a really cute movie and the quote above is taken from it. If you are sitting around looking for a good movie to rent, just thought i'd give you this option.

Well Hello again everyone!

So this past week was eventful to say the least. People say that if you work hard enough you will be rewarded. That is exactly what happened to me this past week. On Wednesday I was only supposed to have one class at 9:30am but that class got cancelled because my professor was out of town. I was so excited to have the day off. Then Thursday, I was supposed to have a busy day full of classes but we got hit with a bad snow storm and they closed the school and cancelled all classes. That was an extra bonus that made my week fabulously relaxing.

Friday night I hung out with the few friends that were left on campus because most of my friends went home for the Easter holiday.

Speaking of Easter...

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Since we had our spring break a week prior I couldn't go home for Easter. This was the first Easter my sister and I couldn't be home. It was sad but our friend Ashley's mom took us in (along with our other friends who couldn't go home for the holiday) and we had an amazing Easter at my friend Ashley's house with her mom and family. We even helped out with the decoration process. My sister (being a baking and pastry major and all) did most of the dessert making with Ashleybaking.jpg
, while my friend Rachel and I did the hard work--coloring eggs eggs2.jpg.

Rachel didn't believe me that my eggs were better, but they totally were ;). eggs.jpg

So anyway, now i'm back in school mode. Its time to buckle down and get all my final papers and projects complete because we only have about 4 weeks left. Its insane.

Word of Advice-- Don't take the college thing for granted. It goes by so fast you will be amazed. Enjoy your freshman year because you only get one and you want it to be the best it can possibly be. I know mine was.

Until next time...

"Have Fun... Be Good... and If you can't be Good... Be Careful". (a quote from the smartest woman I know--my mom)

Bye For Now,

Em ;)
