Spring Break.... in Bayonne!!

Since it is spring I thought I would give you some lyrics to my favorite upbeat song....

Its been a long, long time, yeah!
(stir it, stir it, stir it together)
Since I got you on my mind. (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) oh-oh!
Now you are here (stir it, stir it, stir it together), I said,
Its so clear
Theres so much we could do, baby, (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Just me and you.

Bob Marley - Stir It Up

Hello All,

IT IS SPRING BREAK!!!

Everyone expects college spring break to be a fabulous time away from school and family at a beach resort in Florida. Well these people must have LARGE bank accounts.I am spending my spring break in Bayonne, NJ ( my hometown) where the closest beach is about an hour away, however its still cold. I was supposed to go to Orlando, Florida with my sister and two of my best friends but then we all realized how expensive a trip like that can be. We were trying to be optimistic but we later realized that our optimisum wouldn't give us the $1000 to fly there. So now I am home in Bayonne spending my spring break with my family. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have it any other way.

My spring break started with me going to work. All four years of high school I worked for a family owned bakery in my town so I went back this year to help out during the holidays. My spring break continued with a family gathering for Easter Sunday. It was sooo much fun. I got an Easter basket (that my mom creates every year) and I got to hang out with family that I don't get to see too often because I am at school.

Today is my day to relax before embarking on my crazy schedule for the rest of my spring break. So I decided to blog today to let you all know what I am up to. So here is the timeline....

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment with a new dentist. I am quite scared I must admit but I'm sure I will be fine :( .

Wednesday, I will be spending the entire day in New York City searching for internship opportunities. I am an Event Planning major so my best bet to find a really good internship is to look in NYC. I have two interviews lined up so far so wish me luck!!

Thursday, I will be heading to Hoboken, NJ with my sister so she can visit her old boss and so I can go on another interview for another possible internship. Hopefully, they are impressed! :)

Friday looks somewhat free of plans (Thank God), but that could always change.

Saturday is my day to shop! In my Easter Basket my mom promised that she would take me shopping for some new spring clothes and really cute spring shoes ( my mom, my sister, and I share a love and passion for shoes. I know its strange but oh well ;) ).

Sunday, I am heading back to good ol' SNHU. Hopefully I will see some of you at Accepted Student's Day on April 5th. My sister and I will be at the Student Panel so come say hi.

Thats it for me! Hope to see you soon!

Spring Semester is a Killa!!

Here is my "Fun Fact" for today:

awake.jpg

So last night I watched the movie Awake with Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen. The movie is about the phenomenon of anesthetic awareness. In all honestly, the movie was pretty good. When I saw the previews for it I thought it was going to be terrible, but I was wrong. It was actually extremely creepy, when Christensen is under anesthetia yet is still talking and discribing the pain he feels. So if you want a different movie to check out, rent Awake, I think you will enjoy it.

Hello Everyone!!

I know I know, Long time no post. I get it, but come on, you can't blame me. I'm a sophmore in college and it's the middle of spring semester. Between projects, homework, and midterms, I barely have time to sit down nevermind post a heartfelt blog. But here I am. I have actually found the time. YAY!! I'm sure you are all thrilled. hehe ;)

So my life, in a nutshell, has been.........BUSY!!! As I told you in my last post, I am working on an event for my special events management class. The class is awesome and I am getting some great hands-on experience. There is only one problem with hands-on experience....It's Stressful! My clients have a difficult time with sticking to one plan. They keep changing things on us so everytime we think we are two steps ahead, they yank us four steps back. Its just the nature of the beast, I guess. It all comes with the job. And can I get you in on a secret... I'm actually enjoying every minute of it. The stress, the smiles, the production, everything. It is definately my favorite class project ever. I can't wait to see the finished product. Its a month away so wish me luck! :)

In other news, this weekend, my friends and I celebrated my best friend, Ashley's, Birthday. We had a great time. We went to this habachi restaurant that is about 5 minutes from campus (It is right down the road from Hanaford's, for anyone who knows the area. And trust me, if you don't know the area, once you come to SNHU, you will be very acquainted with the Hanaford's area.). The place is called Shogun and it has great food. For those of you who don't know, Habachi food is where you order and a chef cooks your food right in front of you. I went with great people and I had a great time. HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!

SNHU men's lacrosse also had its first game yesterday. They lost 15-10 but they played Dowling College from Long Island and they are ranked 5th in the nation. Our boys put up a good fight though. Their next game is an away game at Pace University on March 22nd at 1:00pm. I'll keep you all posted on their schedule.

Well that is all for today. I have to get back to my Accounting Take Home Test. Wish me Luck!!

Talk to you soon,

Emily :)
