Hello All,

IT IS SPRING BREAK!!!

Everyone expects college spring break to be a fabulous time away from school and family at a beach resort in Florida. Well these people must have LARGE bank accounts.I am spending my spring break in Bayonne, NJ ( my hometown) where the closest beach is about an hour away, however its still cold. I was supposed to go to Orlando, Florida with my sister and two of my best friends but then we all realized how expensive a trip like that can be. We were trying to be optimistic but we later realized that our optimisum wouldn't give us the $1000 to fly there. So now I am home in Bayonne spending my spring break with my family. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have it any other way.

My spring break started with me going to work. All four years of high school I worked for a family owned bakery in my town so I went back this year to help out during the holidays. My spring break continued with a family gathering for Easter Sunday. It was sooo much fun. I got an Easter basket (that my mom creates every year) and I got to hang out with family that I don't get to see too often because I am at school.

Today is my day to relax before embarking on my crazy schedule for the rest of my spring break. So I decided to blog today to let you all know what I am up to. So here is the timeline....

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment with a new dentist. I am quite scared I must admit but I'm sure I will be fine :( .

Wednesday, I will be spending the entire day in New York City searching for internship opportunities. I am an Event Planning major so my best bet to find a really good internship is to look in NYC. I have two interviews lined up so far so wish me luck!!

Thursday, I will be heading to Hoboken, NJ with my sister so she can visit her old boss and so I can go on another interview for another possible internship. Hopefully, they are impressed! :)

Friday looks somewhat free of plans (Thank God), but that could always change.

Saturday is my day to shop! In my Easter Basket my mom promised that she would take me shopping for some new spring clothes and really cute spring shoes ( my mom, my sister, and I share a love and passion for shoes. I know its strange but oh well ;) ).

Sunday, I am heading back to good ol' SNHU. Hopefully I will see some of you at Accepted Student's Day on April 5th. My sister and I will be at the Student Panel so come say hi.

Thats it for me! Hope to see you soon!

So last night I watched the movie Awake with Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen. The movie is about the phenomenon of anesthetic awareness. In all honestly, the movie was pretty good. When I saw the previews for it I thought it was going to be terrible, but I was wrong. It was actually extremely creepy, when Christensen is under anesthetia yet is still talking and discribing the pain he feels. So if you want a different movie to check out, rent Awake, I think you will enjoy it.

Hello Everyone!!

I know I know, Long time no post. I get it, but come on, you can't blame me. I'm a sophmore in college and it's the middle of spring semester. Between projects, homework, and midterms, I barely have time to sit down nevermind post a heartfelt blog. But here I am. I have actually found the time. YAY!! I'm sure you are all thrilled. hehe ;)

So my life, in a nutshell, has been.........BUSY!!! As I told you in my last post, I am working on an event for my special events management class. The class is awesome and I am getting some great hands-on experience. There is only one problem with hands-on experience....It's Stressful! My clients have a difficult time with sticking to one plan. They keep changing things on us so everytime we think we are two steps ahead, they yank us four steps back. Its just the nature of the beast, I guess. It all comes with the job. And can I get you in on a secret... I'm actually enjoying every minute of it. The stress, the smiles, the production, everything. It is definately my favorite class project ever. I can't wait to see the finished product. Its a month away so wish me luck! :)

In other news, this weekend, my friends and I celebrated my best friend, Ashley's, Birthday. We had a great time. We went to this habachi restaurant that is about 5 minutes from campus (It is right down the road from Hanaford's, for anyone who knows the area. And trust me, if you don't know the area, once you come to SNHU, you will be very acquainted with the Hanaford's area.). The place is called Shogun and it has great food. For those of you who don't know, Habachi food is where you order and a chef cooks your food right in front of you. I went with great people and I had a great time. HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!

SNHU men's lacrosse also had its first game yesterday. They lost 15-10 but they played Dowling College from Long Island and they are ranked 5th in the nation. Our boys put up a good fight though. Their next game is an away game at Pace University on March 22nd at 1:00pm. I'll keep you all posted on their schedule.

Well that is all for today. I have to get back to my Accounting Take Home Test. Wish me Luck!!

Talk to you soon,

Emily :)

Oh when you smile at me you know exactly what you do
Baby don't pretend that you don't know it's true
Cause you can see it when I look at you

- Michael Buble - Everything : Best Song!!! I started off with this song because I am going to his concert in March and I can't wait. He is actually my sister's favorite singer. All of my roommates decided we would all go to the concert together. I will definately be letting you know how it is.

Hey Everyone!!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days but I have been incredibly busy!!

School has been good except I have crazy amounts of work (what do you expect, I'm in college!) Let me explain what is taking up most of my time....

I am Convention and Event Management major so one of the required classes is Special Events Management. It is taught by one of my favorite hospitality teachers, Dr. Monk. Our main project in the class is we had to spilt up into groups and find a client that woud be willing to let 5 to 6 college students plan an entire event for them. We would become their event planners. Most groups are have clients from SNHU and they are planning events for the SNHU campus, such as the RA banquet, but my group got a very challenging assignment. Our clients are the LSS - Lutheran Social Services of Concord. We our planning their first annual Global Gourmet Gala for 175 people. This is a real-life event and I am incredibly scared, but I have a really strong group and the ladies from LSS are soo nice that I think everything will come together perfectly. Our event is going to be on April 17th @ 5:30 at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate in Concord so as you can see we don't have much time to get this accomplished so all of the work involved has taken up all of my free time.

Anyway, in other news, Valentine's Day came and went and to tell you the truth, it doesn't matter if you have a significant other during this pointless holiday, it is still depressing and worthless. You are either sad that you don't have someone to spend it with or you are dissappointed that you didn't do what you wanted to do with your boyfriend/girlfriend. Ok, even of my complaining....

So, there you have it. My life has been pretty boring, but hopefully it will be more eventful soon.

Talk to you later!!

NEW YORK GIANTS WIN SUPERBOWL XLII !!!!!

I am from Bayonne, NJ and have been a New York Giants fan my entire life. This Superbowl was unexpected and amazing! Coming to school in New England, I knew I was going to be one of the only Giants fans around but I also knew I had to respresent my team. I stuck with all the critism from the New England Patriot fans and it paid off. Everyone doubted my team but they pulled it off and I am so thrilled.

I figured I would dedicate this blog entry to the Superbowl and My team--My New York Giants.

Here are some great pictures I have found and I thought I might share them with all of you....

David Tyree, a special teams player, had one touchdown catch and an amazing catch in the last 2 minutes that clutched the Superbowl Win for the Giants!!

Great Band!!. check them out Please!!.... I was with someone this past week who loves them so I figured I would share them with all of you.

Well now that you have seen my little bit of advice for the week, let's get down to business....

Helllllo everyone!!!

I am back in Jersey for Winter Break. I finished my last final on December 20th and have been home ever since. It has been very nice to be home and see my parents and friends from high school. Some more words of advice - Don't expect ALL of your friends to stay exactly the same as you remembered them. Everyone changes. Some for good, some for bad. The first winter break back home from college was the hardest. Everyone had different attitudes, beliefs, goals, friends, etc. It's hard to accept but you also realize who your true friends are. Anyway, enough of my preaching, back to my vacation.

Christmas came so fast this year. My sister and I had to work the 23rd, 24th, and 25th. I know what your thinking-- "Why would I work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?!?!?!" Well, when I was in high school, I worked for a bakery for four years. Our biggest lines and most crowded days were right before and during Christmas. To tell you the truth, I really needed the money. Going to college is an amazing experience, but it teaches you very quickly how fast your money just "disappears."

Other than the work load, Christmas Eve was nice. I got to see my whole family and give out and get presents. We had a great meal of many different kinds of food. Christmas Morning, well I should say Christmas Afternoon, was my favorite. After I got home from work, my mom, dad, my sister, and I sat around in our pjs and opened presents from each other. My favorite present had to be my New York Giants Finger I got from my dad.
I am a HUGE NY Giants fan and my dad and I share that love. I used that finger when we went to the Giants vs. Pats game on Dec. 29th. Even though we lost (Only by 3, Thank you very much), I think the finger brought the Giants luck (I know I'm a loser but I can dream, can't I?).

Anyway, moving on, after the Giants game, the days were relatively low-key, except for the fact that my boyfriend, Erik, came to visit from Delaware. He was here for a week and my parents love him so I was happy. Ok where am I? Oh Right.... NEW YEAR'S EVE!! I had an Amazing New Years! Erik was in Jersey with me so we went to my friend Jill's house and hung out with all of my friends from high school. It was honestly great.
Here's a picture of all my girlfriends from high school

On Friday, Erik, my sister, our friend, Chris, and I went to New York City. Chris had never been to NYC before so we figured we would show him around, since we live only 30 minutes outside of the city by train. We saw the tree in Rockefeller Center!
Here is a pic of Me Chris and Liz in front of the tree!!
Here is me and Erik <3

And we went to the middle of times square.

We also went to the village to have dinner and found the coolest restaurant called Garage. It had a live jazz band and AMAZING food. Next time your in the city you should really check it out.

So now it brings me to this week. So far the only thing exciting going on this week is that my family and I are going to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway!! I'm so excited.

I loved the Little Mermaid as a kid and my sister and I have a weird obsession with musical theater (Hey, I told you I was a loser, but I love me so I don't care).

Next week, I am planning on watching the Giants beat the Cowboys and make it into the third round of the playoffs and then go to Delaware to hang out with Erik and his family. :) It should be interesting!!

So there you have it, my winter break of my sophmore year!! Hope it was as interesting to read as it was to live. Enjoy!! I will talk to you when i'm back at SNHU!!!

See ya,

      Hey all,

Well here I am again. Back at SNHU for my sophmore year! I am thrilled to be back and I can not believe how fast first semester has gone.

So lets recap,

I am now living in an on-campus apartment with my twin sister, Elizabeth, and three of our best friends. We are having a blast. It is great to be out of a regular two person dorm room. There are three bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, and kitchen. We all get along great so it is amazing to live together.
Here is a picture of my girls I love with. They are amazing!

Unlike last year, I am now a Convention and Event Management Major. I took 5 classes this semester, including Western Civilization I, Psychology, Microecomonics, Accounting, and Dimentions of Service Management (its a hospitality intro course). They weren't so bad. I had Dr. Cooper for my Western Civ. class and she is amazing. The class is difficult and takes a lot of work but you feel so accomplished when you get a good grade. I actually just found out that I got an A in the class. I am so excited that all of my hard work paid off.

I just finished taking all of my finals so technically my first semester is OVER! I really can't believe it. It went by so fast. I thought after Freshman year, college would start to go by a little slower but I was wrong. It goes by even faster.

I am heading back to New Jersey tomorrow morning and will be back January 21st to start my second semester at SNHU! I can't wait!

Talk to you soon! I have to finish packing :)

Emily <3

So here is my random fact for today:
Check out John Mayer's new CD - Continuum! It is amazing!! I can't stop listening to it. It got me through doing all of my finals work.

Hey everyone....

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but it has been a stressful two weeks. I've been focusing on school for the most part. It is "crunch" time in college terms. This is the time of year where you recieve every final paper and every review sheet imaginable.

Time-Management is key!!

I always knew that college work and finals week were going to be difficult but I never knew it was going to come around so quick. Ok so here's an idea of what I have to accomplish in the next two weeks:

- 10 page classical argument paper
- 8 page Information Technology Paper
- Statistics Project
- 5-7 page Sanitation Paper
- English final
- Marketing Final
- Sanitation/Security Final
- Statistics Final....

whew... yes i know what your thinking..... OH MY GOD!! because that is exactly what i'm thinking. I know I will get all of it done and to tell you the truth I don't really have a choice but now its just time to buckle down and bang out all this work.

Advice: Your last few weeks of school, you are going to want to spend as much time as you can with your new friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc., but don't! School comes first. Don't let all your work pile up until the last week just because you wanted to go out to dinner or you wanted to watch another movie with your friends.

Honestly, I can't believe the school year is almost over. I thought I was going to be excited to be finished with my first year of college and get to go home for a 4 month vacation, but to be completely honest, i'm really not. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my parents and my friends back home, but I have made another home here. I know it sounds so cheesy but it's true. I'm going to miss my dorm, my Massachusetts/New Hampshire friends, my freedom, etc. I'm glad, however, that I didn't take advantage of my college experience. Trust me, I made plenty of friends that didn't make it through their first year of college because they took it for granted. I'm proud that I stuck through it, made great friends, found a boyfriend, had fun, and still maintained a 3.5 GPA. College is an amazing experience if you are mature enough to handle it.

Anyway, my life isn't ALL about boring ol' school work. On Thursday I went to the John Legend concert in Boston at the Orpheium Theatre. He was AMAZING!! My friend Bryan and I went and I was soo happy to take a break from school stuff and just enjoy the show.

We had Great seats!

So anyway, other than that, I am pretty excited for this weekend because of the NFL Draft. I know what your thinking, why on earth am I excited about the draft? Well there is one simple answer........

I LOVE FOOTBALL!

Any Football fan will tell you that the draft is the start of their season. I'm so excited.

Well then that's all for now. I have to go and finishing writing my first draft for my classical argument paper. Talk to you soon.

"One day can change your life. One day can ruin your life. All life is is three or four big days that change everything"

Ok so before i start my post, I watched a movie last night that was really good. It's called Riding in Cars with Boys.

Its kinda a chick flick so sorry guys, this advice is for the girls. It is a really cute movie and the quote above is taken from it. If you are sitting around looking for a good movie to rent, just thought i'd give you this option.

Well Hello again everyone!

So this past week was eventful to say the least. People say that if you work hard enough you will be rewarded. That is exactly what happened to me this past week. On Wednesday I was only supposed to have one class at 9:30am but that class got cancelled because my professor was out of town. I was so excited to have the day off. Then Thursday, I was supposed to have a busy day full of classes but we got hit with a bad snow storm and they closed the school and cancelled all classes. That was an extra bonus that made my week fabulously relaxing.

Friday night I hung out with the few friends that were left on campus because most of my friends went home for the Easter holiday.

Speaking of Easter...

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Since we had our spring break a week prior I couldn't go home for Easter. This was the first Easter my sister and I couldn't be home. It was sad but our friend Ashley's mom took us in (along with our other friends who couldn't go home for the holiday) and we had an amazing Easter at my friend Ashley's house with her mom and family. We even helped out with the decoration process. My sister (being a baking and pastry major and all) did most of the dessert making with Ashley
, while my friend Rachel and I did the hard work--coloring eggs .

Rachel didn't believe me that my eggs were better, but they totally were ;).

So anyway, now i'm back in school mode. Its time to buckle down and get all my final papers and projects complete because we only have about 4 weeks left. Its insane.

Word of Advice-- Don't take the college thing for granted. It goes by so fast you will be amazed. Enjoy your freshman year because you only get one and you want it to be the best it can possibly be. I know mine was.

Until next time...

"Have Fun... Be Good... and If you can't be Good... Be Careful". (a quote from the smartest woman I know--my mom)

Bye For Now,

It's sooo cute. If you get a chance, you must rent or buy this movie. You will not be disappointed.

Hey Everyone!!

Well I just got back from spring break. I know what you might be thinking--where did I go? Somewhere tropical? exotic? sunny? No. No. and No. I went home to Jersey. Don't get me wrong I loved being home and seeing my parents but I would have much rathered going somewhere where "spring break" is a big deal. However, I did come back to school with a fabulous tan :).

So anyway, getting back into the swing of things at school wasn't too bad. Classes were normal and teachers were back into their "getting work done" attitudes.

So today was pretty easy. Tonight was a SNHU home lacrosse game against Assumption College. WE WON!!!! 13-8!!! It was a good game except for when it rained/snowed mid-game, but my friends and I are troopers and stayed for the entire game. It was freezing by the way.

Anyway, thats pretty much all that is going on so far in my life back at SNHU. I have just about one month left in the "Life Free or Die" State. I can't believe this year went by sooo fast. It's insane. I'll just have to make sure this last month is amazing!! ;)

Talk to you all soon.

xoxo,
Em :)

"Want to know where your heart is? see where your mind goes when it wanders.."

Hey everyone!!

Today is my best friend Ashley's birthday :)!!

She just turned 19, which means she's older than me but oh well i accept that i'm a youngin'. Last night, 11 of our closest friends went to Margarita's for her birthday dinner. It was alot of fun and it was nice to get away from cafe food for a night. I'm not saying that cafe food is bad, you just need a meal off campus every once in a while :).

Let me recap the happenings of my life since my last entry.

Well last wednesday was my first midterm... yuck... but i got through it. It was for marketing and the class is pretty challenging but i did better than expected because i studied like crazy the night before. Yes, i am one of those people who put off studying till the last minute which is awful. I'm trying to change i swear ;).

On Saturday, I went with a bunch of my friends to my boyfriend's lacrosse game. (ok i didn't technically go anywhere cuz it was a SNHU home game so i walked from my room to the field, which if you have seen SNHU's campus, isn't a far walk at all).
They played C.W. Post from New York. C.W Post is like the 5th place team in the league. SNHU lost but they played a good game. The final score was 11-6.

Sunday was the guy day. I only say that because I went with my sister and four of my guy friends to go see the new movie 300 in the IMAX theater.

OMG! it was amazing! I know what your thinking.. most girls don't like war/killing movies but this one was soooo good.. (ok it helped that the whole Spartan army was incredibly good looking but that's beside the point ;) ) If you need a good guy movie to go see, see 300!! You will not be disappointed.

Now its a new week, and its half way done already. Jeez, this year has gone by sooo fast. I can't believe It is almost spring break.

Well thats it for me for now. I have to get started on my homework :) or take a nap.. i'm not too sure which one i'll do yet.

Just a little useless bit of information... Download "Dark Blue" - by Jack's Mannequin .. i'm listening to it now and i love it :) .

Until next time...

Byezz

      Heyyy!!

"I would imagine if you understood Morse Code, a tap dancer would drive you crazy." - Mitch Hedberg (best comedian ever!! look him up)

My name is Emily, most people just call me Em. I am originally from Bayonne, NJ, which is about 5 hours away from SNHU. I am a hotel and resort management major. People always ask me if its hard to be so far away from home but my answer is always the same--Nope. I brought my home with me and her name is Liz. Liz is my twin sister, if you haven't already guessed.
She is my roommate and best friend so it has made the transition really easy. Even if I wasn't with her, I have made so many other friends here that I can't even fathom that I have only known them for 7 months. By the way, this is picture contains pretty much all of my friends except for my friend Ashley, who was a transfer student this semester.

SNHU is my home away from home. I love it here. Between my friends, classes, activities, social environment, and professors, I couldn't have asked for a better match.

Classes and grades so far for me have been pretty good. I ended last semester with a 3.5 so I was pretty happy with that (and so was my mom). Now its a brand new semester and I and trying to keep up that good grade streek.

okay I have to admit, when I was asked to do a blog I was pretty excited just because it just gives me another excuse to talk and express my opinions about anything. Since my friends are tired of hearing about what is going on in my life I figured the next best people are everyone on the internet :). However, i'm not going to use this blog to just endorse the school. It is a great place but I want all of you perspective students and parents to know what my life is really like as a Freshman at SNHU. I'm not going to sugar coat things because that just isn't who I am.

Now it is down to business. This week has been jam packed...with homework. However, that was completely my fault. Never let all of your homework pile up so you wind up doing all of it the night before it is due. This feeling stinks especially when your friends all want to to go out with them, watch their intermural basketball game, or just watch your favorite tv show and you can't because you are stuck doing homework. This completely explains my Monday-Wednesday of this week. Between a Marketing presentation to English assignments, I was sitting in my room trying to catch up on my homework. Once Thursday came around it felt so nice to just sit in my dorm room in Washington Hall and do nothing. College makes you appreciate how good it feels to do absolutely nothing. It also makes you appreciate naps, which I take full advantage of whenever I get a chance, which is rare. Today we had a snow day, which was fabulous. No one was expecting it so it was a nice little bonus to add to our week. My three day weekend is probably going to consist of homework, hanging out with friends, and sleeping late. Weekends around the SNHU campus are always amusing and interesting to say the least. I will definately fill you all in on the goings on in my next blog.

Well I believe that is all the information I have for you so far. FYI... in all my blogs, i'm going to attach random pictures of me, my friends, campus, pretty much anything that I think is relevant to what I talked about in the entry and even some non-relevant things ;), just to give you a quick look inside my life at SNHU.

Talk to you soon.

Byezzz :),
