Almost at the End...

Sorry for taking a while to write again!! These past couple weeks have been sooooo hectic. It’s getting towards the end of the year, so everything seems to be piling up. Things have calmed down since a few assignments were due last week, but I still have a lot of work to do.

We have about two weeks of classes left (the rest of this week and all of next week) and then a week of what we 3Years call Integrating. The program is set up so that we take finals a week before the regular 4-year students and the time we have left in school is fully dedicated to a weeklong project. It sounds really intense, and in some ways it is, but we work in groups and present our project at the end of the week (May 8th this semester). We don’t find out our presentation topic until May 1st and it’s kept really top secret. Our professors like to tease us because they’re the ones who chose the topic, so they know it and we don’t. But the gist of this whole huge project is to incorporate EVERYTHING that we have learned over the past semester and apply it to the case we’re given. I like this a whole lot better than taking six tests that are usually all essay form. I tend to do better with projects than tests, and with presenting you can say whatever you need to in order to get your point across rather than hoping you pick the right letter on a multiple choice, and your hand doesn’t hurt from writing. I gave presentations like this in high school DECA (a marketing club – sounds kind of boring I know but it’s really not) so I fell really comfortable when this time comes.

Last semester’s Integrating Experience was really good and I think I lucked out with it being my first time ever doing one. My group was awesome and we worked really, really well together. We split up everything equally and we just really meshed well together. Our topic was finding a new market for a fictional yogurt company. The case they handed us had everything we needed and I feel like it wasn’t too, too hard, but really time consuming considering it did take a week to complete.

So we find out our topic next Friday and I’m kind of dorkishly excited =]. I have to write my history paper now – until next time!
