Will it get warm already?!?!

I am so sick of the cold weather. We have had practice outside only two times so far, and there is only two weeks before our first game! I am ready to start playing outside, as much fun as the small gym is...

I was able to retrieve most of my music...woohoo! Still missing about 1,000 songs, but at least I got 2/3 back. I am really getting into the swing of mxdwn now with reviews and editing, as there was kind of a period of time where nothing was going on for me on that front.

Confirmed Australia! I CAN'T WAIT!!! I have to send my deposit in...which I am going to do right now actually, and I am good to go. No word yet on my internship possiblities. Hopefully I will hear something soon. I actually need to continue applying for them because deadlines are approaching fast.

My brother just bought a house back home (in South Burlington, VT). I am so excited for him and his girlfriend. I guess they are moving in at the end of March, and they definitely can't wait to get out of their townhouse now. They are still down in Florida with the rest of my family. I talked to them all on Sunday and they passed the phone around so I could say hi to everyone. I am so jealous...I'm trying not to let that show through ;)

So that's all for now. I have been crazy busy, and really missing my friends from home. Trying to stay in touch is tough when every minute of your day is planned out...ugh. But my friend Todd is coming a week from today! And I think two of my best friends are coming a week after that. So that will be good. I guess I am getting a little homesick :(

Until next time...keep on keepin' on

Rough weekend, even rougher Monday

It's been a tough one, for sure.

First, I will start with the good news because it is more exciting, and I really would prefer to think about that over the bad stuff. I was invited to play lacrosse in Australia this summer for about two weeks. I am so excited and it is an opportunity that may never come my way again, so I am absolutely doing it. I have to send in a confirmation this week, and begin saving!! Saving lots, haha. We play 1-2 games everyday we are there, and Australia is some of the best lacrosse in the world, so it will definitely help me refine my skills.

Other exciting news: I am hoping to obtain an internship in NYC this summer. My cousin used to do PR for Rolling Stone, and now works for a magazine publishing company. She has put me in contact with some companies that have internship programs. They will be PR and Marketing internships, but she had my ideal job: PR Director of a magazine. I am hoping to work with her this summer to learn everything she knows, or at least some! So I am working on that and really hoping to get something together soon, because once games start it is way too hard to concentrate on my life after college...and lacrosse.

Now, in light of these two great things, this weekend was a combination of good and bad. As part of my internship at Rock 101, we did an event at McIntyre Mountain in Manchester, which was a lot of fun, and I led a killer "running man" dance competition. Saturday night, I then missioned to western Massachusetts to see my boyfriend. Awful weather, and the 2 and a half hour trip, took 4 and a half. Although it was great to see him, I went there to see a movie premiere for a documentary he made, and I completely missed it which was disappointing.

I came back to campus on Monday morning at 5:30am. That's fine, got here for class and the day's adctivities. BUT THEN, the most devastating thing to ever happen, I lost ALLof my music on my computer and ipod. I am in the process of trying to retrieve it, but I can't even believe it happened, and I still am missing 1500 songs. Talk about BRUTAL. Also, my entire family left for Florida for three weeks today, and I can't go. Bummer.

So for now, I am trying to remember to breathe and the exciting things that are happening in my life. And cross your fingers that my music magically appears.

It has been way too long...

So, I have been totally brutal at posting so there is soooo much to say.

First off, winter break was fantastic. I saw all my friends and family, even the ones who go to school so far away. I also worked which was of course haineous. I work at a wholesaler for underwear. It's high end, insanely expensive underwear ($22-$26 a pop) that is sold to stores like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and the like. Basically my job is to fold underwear, which is just as exciting as it sounds. Although, everyone that works there is my age so we usually have a pretty good time.

Ok! On to a new semester, and this one is crazier than the last one. I am only enrolled in 4 classes because I am doing a 6 credit internship at Rock 101 in Manchester. The internship is in the promotions department and I work their events and remotes. It's fun and it is giving me some good experience and networking opportunities. I am taking a marketing course, a psycology course, and a communications course in the classroom, along with U.S. History online. I feel like I have more work with these than I had when I was taking 6 in the classroom! I guess that's what happens in Spring...lacrosse takes up all that extra time I had to do other stuff!

Lacrosse is going well though, and we are really getting things together. I'm looking forward to season, and we are ranked number 10 in the country! (for D2 of course) Practice is going well, although the gym makes pre-season almost unbearable. We actually got outside on the turf yesterday which was awesome! I can't wait for more of that...

So I have covered my bases I think. OH WAIT...I forgot to mention the most amazing thing that could have ever happened in February...THE NEW YORK GIANTS ARE SUPERBOWL 42 CHAMPIONS! Who would have thunk it? Even I, the devoted fan that I am couldn't have. I hate the Patriots, and Tom Brady, and the victory is just oh so sweet. I love it. Look for my article in the paper, you know I couldn't resist. And also, I am sick of everyone saying stupid things like the Patriots gave them the game. 5 sacks ain't no joke kid

Until next time...
