Ohio
Well it is day three back at SNHU and day two of classes. Thankfully, I had no classes today. This is why I love Tuesday’s. Having no classes all day enabled me to do so much. The only downside is that I woke up at 9am today and well I wasn’t too happy about that but I moved on and got many things accomplished.
It’s nice to have another break (granted it’s only a 40 hour break) after a long break. While on that subject, I went to Ohio for spring break. You may be puzzled about why I went to Ohio, but the answer is simple. I went to Ohio to visit my aunt and uncle and let me tell you, it was different. From the walk in the caverns (which I may add was cool because I saw some bats flying around which reminded me of the time when there was a bat in may house (which I wrote my college essay on)…I really think I should start using foot notes instead of parenthesis because I’m not even sure if I used them properly. But if I did choose to use footnotes, I’d have to learn how to use foot notes and well my computer skills are questionable), to having a fried pickle, to having to drive a half hour to the nearest restaurant.
And on top of those things, there was a lot and a lot of down time. I actually read a book in those five days that I was there against my uncles’ advice. Every time he saw me with a book in my hands, he would give me this long speech about why books are bad and how it’s only one mans’ opinion. He did however suggested to me to read a book by some German or Russian guy I’ve never heard of.
So after getting back from Ohio on Wednesday, I did absolutely nothing. It’s kind of sad actually. I had tons of work to do because I guess my teachers wanted me to have a long and painful spring break by loading up the homework on me. Well I proved them wrong…until I stayed up until 2:30 Sunday night working on things. And the best part about it is that it wasn’t even due on Monday. They decided to change the due date until Thursday which they neglected to tell me…or I neglected to pay attention to them.
Being back at school for even these past three days have been pretty fun. I racked up eight hours at work on Sunday. The only bad part about my job is the minimum wage that I get paid because it’s a work study. Baseball has started back up again which has been so enjoyable except for the three hours on Monday between 4:10 and 7:00 (for those of you who don’t know what I’m talking bout, I’m talking bout the Sox game).
Another great thing that occurred was Red Octane’s release of Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360 which if I do say is one of the most addicting games ever. My friends and I play it so much (well not lately because the PS2 is broke, but now that it’s for 360, it will be played a lot once again). I never really liked the game back when my friends started playing it but once you get a couple of songs under your belts, your hands become one with the guitar and you feel compelled to rock out.
The one thing I am aggravated about in school is that I have a test on Thursday. We learned all this information weeks ago, maybe even months ago. Then we take a long week off and she expects us to remember all this stuff? I really don’t think it’s fair that she expects us to know and remember all of this knowledge. And it’s not like I can blow this off because this test is worth 20-25 percent and I’m not a good tester so I’m really not excited about this test. Will I study? I would like to attempt to study but I guarantee you that I will be too distracted by baseball, GH II, or just by my friends.
Distractions are the worst. You get so in the mindset of doing work and then your mind wonders and then you’re soon seeing what other people are doing and bam, nothing gets done. It’s just something you will need to learn to deal with. Especially in college because your friends probably don’t have work to be do the next day and they want you to hangout with them. I struggle everyday with this very problem.
