Ghostown
It’s been a while but everything is now back and going. And speaking of going, this past semester has been literally the most hectic of them all.
From doing many things in clubs to all my classes, nothing put as much stress on me as having to do everything on crutches due to me falling down a hill.
About a month ago, I was walking to the Student Center to get my flu shot (yes I still get them even in college) when I slipped walking and fell down a hill. The result of this fall was a broken leg and a torn tendon. I was out of school for two weeks because I had to go back home and have surgery on my leg/ankle.
So once I came back, of course I had massive amounts of work to catch back up on. To be honest, I was so lost in a few classes.
Once I finally came back to school, there was already snow on the ground and it was a winter wonderland. I never broke anything before let alone use crutches and the snow added to the difficulty of everything.
I also had to keep going back home to Newport to see my doctor about once a week and it has just been way too much.
As the weeks passed and the finals and papers mounted, so did the amount of snowfall that hit Manchester. Good for snowboarding and skiing. Not good for kids trying to get around on crutches.
I really don’t know how I would’ve been able to manage this past month without the help of my friends and also the help from Public Safety. Public Safety have been a huge help, especially in getting to all my classes.
For the third straight semester (I’ve only been here for three semesters so, for all my semesters…) I’ve had a final on the last day of finals-Friday. And on top of that, I’ve had a final every day this week including an 8AM which just doesn’t fit with my personal schedule very well. But anyways, I’ve managed to get through this whole week but its Friday night and I am still at SNHU. There is almost no one else here and I am here because of the weather. The snow has been so bad that my parents couldn’t come and get me tonight.
But I will be officially on my break starting tomorrow and it will be so nice to just relax and not have to do anything especially with my leg the way it is.
Next semester is going to be crazy because I am taking six classes in an attempt to graduate next year and then do my internship (every Sport Management major has to do an internship) and hopefully get a job with that team. This all is contingent on me taking six classes for the next three semesters. This will be a big challenge but I really think it will work for the best.
