I Feel Home
Spring break has begun and officially ended tonight when I returned to school; time for some recapping.
I had a paper due at midnight on the Sunday of Spring Break which coincidentally was “Easter.” I put “Easter” in parenthesis because it wasn’t really my Easter because my Easter isn’t until the 27th of April because I am Greek Orthodox and we go by a different calendar than most people. (That’s my extent of the knowledge).
The Monday of Spring Break was my most relaxing day ever. I woke up wicked late and did absolutely nothing. The only bad thing about having a late Spring Break was that most of my friends’ Spring Break already occurred so I was home in Newport without much of anything to do.
But luckily the Boston Red Sox started their 2008 campaign by playing two games over in Japan…at 6:00 in the morning. So Tuesday and Wednesday morning I jumped out of bed at 5:45 AM and watched as the Sox went 1-1 on the road trip.
Surprisingly I worked on some homework the following days while combining to do nothing. I’ve been taking six classes and it’s been a non stop grind this semester. It has been so not fun, the school part that is (is school ever fun?); but everything else has been great. I just have so much fun with my friends just hanging out and doing random things.
Spring Break went by so fast but I had fun seeing my family and hanging out with a few friends who actually were home in the latter part of the week. It was just so much fun but all I wanted to do was get back to school. Not really for the school work part but just to have fun with friends that I’ve seen virtually everyday now for the past 7/8 months (not including winter break). I’ve really made a lot of really great friends and I am ready for another month of fun before having to head back to the island for the summer.
That’s the depressing part about only having one more month left to go. Of course I see my friends throughout the summer but it is just different because they aren’t always there. You’re with the same people which sometimes seems like it’s forever (when you’re at school) and when summer hits, it’s totally different; but oh well, just got to look at it as only a month left of classes.
