Centipedes

Gross title I know, but that's all that's on my mind lately.

We have these huge house centipedes in our house that are disgusting! Probably the size of my pinky if not bigger. I've killed 4 in the past 5 days. Apparently they are good to have because they kill all other types of bugs but EW. They make me sick. Last night I couldn't sleep because I kept (seeing) dreaming about them. I didn't know if it was real or all in my head. I was itching all over and it was horrible. Anyway, if I see anymore, we're getting an exterminator!

On a lighter note, 2 more days left of summer class! + 1 day that we're having a class potluck. So exciting! I have work at Temple until next Wednesday and then I'll be home for the rest of the summer babysitting.

Time to get back to work :/

Mother Nature!

Dear Mother Nature, you're killing me with this rain.

My boyfriend and I were going to go out to dinner and see Up in 3D and I was soooo excited. Uh! He lives in Willow Grove and all the streets are flooded with about a 5 inches of rain so our plans are ruined. I'm sick of this rain. I want a sunny hot summer!!

Now I have no choice but to work on my poem for class on Monday. It's a walk poem so I have to write about what I see and what I'm thinking when I'm walking anywhere in Philadelphia. This should be fun.

Time for some dessert and poem writing!

Monsoon?

So today I experienced the worst rain ever.

I knew it was supposed to thunderstorm but i didn't know I would be walking through a flood in South Philly this morning. The rain hadn't started when I was getting ready to leave so I left my rain boots up stairs n didn't want to walk all the way up 3 flights when I was almost late for the subway. So I left with some sneaks which was bad decision #1.

The rain was coming down so hard I couldn't see anything. I ran to the subway running in and out of puddles the whole way there. I'm a terrified of lightning and thunder as well so I was screaming the whole way. Then, here comes the best part, the dreaded subway bus is coming down the street. The street is flooded, as is the sidewalk. I have no where to go. Bam!! water all over me. At this point I was already drenched so it didn't really matter. I felt like I was in a movie though. It was pretty funny and I'm sure everyone on the bus was laughing at me.

So I get to Temple dripping wet, I sat in class with soggy shoes, and I hate wet jeans!! I'm starting to dry off now at work. Yeah, great day so far! I want to cuddle up in bed with a good book and some hot chocolate. Instead I'm working in Admissions, and have to give a tour later...let's hope the rain hold off! I might just swim home later :)
