I Think There's Something You Need to Know about Me
I am infatuated by spoons. I'm not really sure why. I find this specific utensil to be friendlier than the other common ones (fork, knife). I think the shape is pleasing. Additionally, some of the most delicous foods (tomato soup, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookie dough, canned peaches) are eaten with spoons.
My collection numbers 79 currently, and I am always adding to it. Some of the best spoons I have are a gold one from Las Vegas, and souvenir ones from Oregon, George Washington University (courtesy of one of my high school friends), and my very own Philadelphia. My newest addition is from Nova Scotia!, where I went last week with my daddy.
My dad is a crazy dude. He's also one of my best friends. But his latest crazy idea is to retire to Nova Scotia. So, he bought a small house in Atlantic...I'm sure none of you will know where that is because there is absolutely nothing in Atlantic except for dirt, rocks, trees, and ocean. And bunnies. HUGE HUGE HUGE bunnies. It's all very pretty. Very pretty dirt, rocks, trees, ocean, and bunnies. And ducks. And cranes. But yeah. The closest town is Shelburne...heard of that? It's an hour or so from Lunenburg, which you also might have heard of, and two hours or so from Halifax, the capital.
So my daddy and I roadtripped to Nova Scotia. We took a five-hour ferry from Portland, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia...probably a twelve or thirteen hour trip one way. We ate dinner in Shelburne one night at a beautiful restaurant called Charlotte Lane. Here's a Charlotte Lane spoon:
