Wrapping Up...

It's been my first week of summer without my internship, and while it's been nice to do nothing but sit on the beach, I miss it! I miss brainstorming fun ideas for reception with all sorts of themes, and looking for that wooden canoe for the rustic-themed wedding, and perusing the viewbooks of various photographers.

Temple has every student in the Internship course do a huge final report after his or her internship is over. I was glad I started mine early because it ended up being about 18 pages. While I sort of was not excited about it at all at the beginning, I really enjoyed it because it showed me how much I learned during the process. And what I wasn't sure about, I got to talk to my supervisor about and get more complete answers.

A bunch of interns ended up leaving in the same week, and we all went to a goodbye dinner. We ended up picking a fancy schmance sushi place and the only choice for parking was to have a valet park our cars. I felt grown up.

Crazy Weather, Man

So if you live in this area, you may have noticed the CRAZY HAIL STORM on Sunday. It was insane, so nice and sunny one minute and then the skies got darker and darker and then it starting hailing. Ice the size of like. Golf balls.

Here's a picture from my front door. It's kind of neat.

The sky's been doing crazy things lately. Remember Emily, the one I made the mosaic with? Well, she's spending the semester in Puerto Rico. At her going away party this weekend, the clouds outside her window looked pretty cool.

I'm at my last day at my internship currently! So let me finish up this day, and soon I'll tell you all sort of fun things about my co-interns and the very hard core Final Report that STHM requires of all students.

Artsy Fartsy

In Preschool, I made this papier mache turkey that won a prize for "Most Realistic." This summer, I didn't make any turkeys or win any prizes, but I did make a mosaic and a frame!

I've always wanted to make a mosaic, but never actually thought I was going to. But I have this one friend, Emily, who sort of makes anything happen. So when I told her I wanted to make a mosaic, she just said "Okay. Let's do it." So at her dad's house there's this parking lot with a brick wall around it and we transformed part of it into this beach scene with waves and sand and a sun. It is glorious. Poor Emily had to finish the whole grouting thing by herself cause our schedules didn't match up...but she did great. Although she doesn't want to look at it ever again, I don't think.

My sister, Kelsey, and I also went to a pottery painting place in Wayne. We originally went to paint a sugar bowl because I happened to break our other one. But they didn't have any sugar bowls for us to paint. So we painted a frame instead!

I'm gonna miss her.

But I get to spend a whole week with her and two of her little friends at the beach starting on Saturday. So it's all okay, for now. :)

Summer Slump

Hey team,

Sorry for my absence! It's been that weird part of summer where you really want it to end so you can go do the next thing in your life, but also have no desire to do anything but eat Rita's with your friends and sit on a deck, you know?

I have been mildly productive though! Through STHM, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Global Fusion Festival in Penn's Landing. I'm pretty sure it was the hottest Saturday this summer, but I was in the Children's Tent, and got to hand out balloons and watch this crazy purple snake that the Philadelphia Zoo brought.

Here's a picture of a performer--- he was with a group doing the Chinese Lion Dance, and then broke out with what seemed to be a pitchfork...it was pretty cool.

I also got my visa!!!!! Now I am officially spending the fall semester in Granada, Spain, and I will be legal and can't get in trouble for not getting a visa because I have one! Now I've got a week and a half to kill, then I spend a week at the beach, then a couple more days, and then Spain.

Crazy, right. I'm getting to be terrified.
