Day Two!

It's day two of the spring semester and due to my crazy schedule, I've only been to three of my six classes. So far-- Research Methodology, Financial Issues in Tourism and Hospitality, and Marketing for Tourism and Hospitality. I was a bit anxious about this semester because I don't think of my brain as really business-y, but so far it's been going pretty well. I've read some of the chapters and readings due for the next classes (taking breaks for 'House' and the dinner my fantastic roommate made), and I understand them and find them interesting. Success!

It's weirrrrddd being back on campus. There's this huge new building, Alter Hall, an addition to the Fox School of Business, that was in its very early stages when I left. The bookstore has a new room dedicated to the students of Tyler School of Art, a school that was added to Main Campus while I was gone (it was previously thirty or so minutes away). There are a lot more people speaking English then there were for four months in Spain, and not gonna lie, I sort of miss having classes in Spanish. But then again I don't have the added battle of trying to understand what my teachers are saying, let alone the course concepts.

Just like always, I'm gonna go grab a drink before class starts. Except this time it'll be a tea, not cafe con leche, and the class will be Event Management and not English to Spanish Translation. But it's all good.

Transitional Periods

I've spent the requisite time sitting around, sleeping in (slightly, til 9 or so), and watching marathons of NCIS and House. And now I'm ready to be done! Most of my high school friends are getting ready to return to their schools (or, in two cases, to study abroad in London and Cairo) and I can't wait until I get to do the same.

I've read the course descriptions of my all my new classes, found the binders I packed away (since I didn't use them in Spain), and read on STHM's website about the Professional Associations (it's my goal to join one of them this semester). Responsible, true? But now I think I need a hobby. Maybe I'll crochet a scarf or something.

Myself and my friend Lisa. It was SO COLD that our feet were numb and tingly by the time we left.
