Tarzan
This week here at SPC has been so much fun so far!
At lunch time today, we had the Second Annual Freshman Awards. 77 of us were awarded for having an outstanding GPA and enough credits. I was happy because I got to bring my Dad, and we got to eat some yummy food. Getting this award makes all of my hard work last semester worth while, and it pushes me to work hard this semester too.
Not only did I go to New York City this week, but I went twice and saw two musicals: Chicago and Tarzan. I love how the great city is only a few minutes away. When we went to NYC, the trip was very impromptu. My friend Gary mentioned wanting to see a musical, and I absolutely love musicals so I couldn’t resist. So right after our last class, we invited more people and immediately left for NYC. We waited outside the theater for three hours in the rain! We were second in line, and were able to get student-rush tickets, special tickets discounted especially for students with a valid college ID. Not only did I get to see the show, but I got to meet some of the cast members, one of them included Josh Strickland, a finalist on American Idol! I also got their autographs. This is definitely an experience I’ll never forget.

This guy played Terk, Tarzan’s gorilla friend…my favorite character!
