And We're Back....
I'm back for my second year at SPC. It's back to lugging almost everything I own on campus, buying textbooks, finding classes, and figuring out how to use the new washing machines.
I moved in last Sunday and was really excited. I'm living in Veterans Memorial Court in an apartment with my friends Veronica, Ani, and Desi. I really like it, especially because we have our own living room, kitchen, and bathroom. It's very different from the freshman dorms last year. We also get free cable this year, which is a good bonus. It took me almost 3 hours to move everything in. I had to bring all the stuff I brought up four flights of stairs-that was not fun at all. But everything is all settled now.

Last Monday I helped most of the freshmen move in along with the rest of the Peakock Flock. It was a grueling day, but at least it wasn't raining this time. I remember it rained when I moved in as a freshman. It was so exciting seeing new faces. I could remember last year when I moved in and how nervous I was.

The day after that the McMullen Chorale sang for Freshman Day, and the rest of the upperclassmen moved in.
I'm still working for L'Oreal too, but only part time for the rest of the year. I hope I don't get too stressed out with it.
We all started classes on Wednesday. I'm taking four classes this year: Poetry and Drama, Philosophy, History of Modern Women, and Romance Synthesis (a very challenging course in which we learn 3 languages at the same time: Italian, French, and Spanish-all of which originate from Latin and are somewhat similar). It's going to be a lot of work this semester, but hopefully I'll survive.
I'm also a GEM for Dr. Rabin's 9 o'clock History Seminar. I just basically help the freshman in her class with anything they need help with. That should be fun too.
On Thursday we celebrated my good friend Gary's birthday (he's the one in the middle wearing green).
We had a cake too!
It was Labor Day weekend, and I spent part of today with my friends Gary and Casey. Casey goes to Pace University and is one of my close friends from high school. I'm glad she's close enough that I can still see her regularly. We went on our usual stroll to Chinatown and on the way back stopped at The Strand-an incredible bookstore which sells all kinds of books for great bargain prices. I really missed NYC over the summer and glad that it's only a few minutes away again.

It's good to be back at SPC. I know this semester is going to be really busy with work and challenging classes, but it should be fun too. Good luck to everyone!
