Just in case you are a college student wondering how to attract a big crowd to your event. . . .those two words will always do the trick. A bunch of friends and I went to the 11th annual night of International Song and Dance sponsored by student activities Thursday night. We enjoyed Indian dancing, a gospel choir, and even our friends John Massey and Jen Gillen in kilts. There was lots of singing from different cultures around the world as well. The international buffet satisfied us all..........I think Megan went back for hummus and chips like five times but . . . . I won't tell anyone. I had no class on Friday so I pretty much vegged out in my apartment and pretended to do work. I need to leave my apartment though because I start eating just to avoid studying. You know what that means. . . FAT and STRESSED!! haha just kidding.

I am lucky enough to have an SPC Alumnus as a mentor, an opportunity all the Presidential Scholars are offered. My mentor is on the Board of Regents and he is the editor of a shipping magazine. Since he lives here in Jersey City, we were supposed to meet for breakfast at the VIP diner up the block this morning at 9:00 and I FORGOT. Yeah. . . I feel pretty stupid but we rescheduled for next week. He probably thought I died or something!

So today is Saturday and tonight I have a babysitting job at a hotel on midtown. I am registered with a nanny agency in "The City" and I get various babysitting jobs through them on the weekends. I also babysit for a church on Sunday mornings. I hope I am able to get back alright, as it is supposed to snow 8-10 inches and everyone is freaking out. I think that snow is overrated. You haven't lived until it is 50 below zero, you have no cell phone reception, the farms are 3 miles apart, and your car starts to break down 10 miles from the nearest town. Oh yeah. . . . .that's what happened to me in Montana over Christmas Break last year lol. I'm officially not scared anymore. Did someone say our winters are bad here?? Whatev!
