TWO MORE DAYS!!
Only two more days until Jamal, our friend Matt Rotundo, and I head up to Turning Stone Resort. I can’t wait! The place is on an Indian reservation in New York and you can gamble when you’re 18 instead of 21. Jamal and Matt are very excited about playing poker and other games. . . but the spa sounds good to me! I have had to hear the countdown for the last month, everyday someone tells me 15 days, 14 days. . . .and now we’re down to 2!
On Monday, John Perkins came to speak about his book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man. He spoke to us for about an hour and then answered questions. There were about 400 people there. My economics professor counted all of them. It was great to hear such a new and famous author. Now I just have to write a paper about his work over spring break.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and I attended noon mass in Roy Irving Theatre with some friends. Possibly 5,390 people told me that my forehead was dirty. The next one who said anything was for sure going to get a smack. . haha.
Last night after all my classes were over (they end at three o’clock on Wednesdays) and after I got off work tutoring students at the CALL center at five, I took the train to Christopher Street. I babysat for a couple hours for a parish during their Ash Wednesday service. I called my friend Meg, and sure enough her and my other friends had just sat down at the Lemongrass tai restaurant near the 14 street station. Megan, Marjorie, Erica, Erin, Gina, and I were all there with Gina and Tricia to celebrate their birthdays this week! Most people ordered pad tai chicken, but I ordered a random thing that I could not pronounce. . . . and it was pretty good. The unidentified meat-like object that I found was a little weird. . . but it’s always good to try something new I guess.
