Mom is here! . . . . open house, etc.
On Saturday Saint Peter's College hosted their spring open house which was a huge success. The families were given the opportunity to talk to people from every academic department, listen to speakers, go to a mock classroom, and enjoy a campus tour. The only problem was . . . it was POURING! Most of the work studies and Pavo volunteers were drenched in rain, and only the brave attended a campus tour. However, open house itself was a great success . . . the biggest ever! If anyone missed out, don't hesitate to come in for a tour either during the week or on a Saturday!
After open house on Saturday, I went with Jamal to the Newark Airport to pick up my mom. This is her first time visiting me at school. Of course, she made some friends on the airplane. . . she always is making random friends; it is pretty funny. I gave her a BIG HUG and I am so happy she is here. Saturday night we took the train back to school and got settled down. On Sunday morning I babysat at the church where I work, and Jamal gave my mom a campus tour and they went for a walk in Lincoln Park. That night, we rented a movie called, "Monster In-Law" which was hilarious. On Monday morning I put my mom on the train in Hoboken . . . she went to visit her great aunt in Sloatsburg New York. Her aunt is a nun. . . . . .and luckily she came back from the convent last night. She had lots of fun, and we rented another movie called "Walk the LIne" about Johnny Cash. Today I have class and work the whole day. . . but tonight I"m going ot bring my mom into the city. Only one more day of school!
