Sight-seeing with Mom

Last Wednesday was a busy day for me, but mom and I did get to listen to a defense attorney give a talk at lunch. She was an alumni of Saint Peter’s, and we both enjoyed that since my sister is a lawyer. After all my classes and work were over, mom and I went to Times Square and walked around. We went to the Empire State Building, but at the last minute we didn’t go to the observatory because there was a 2 hr wait. We asked the security guy when we should come back for less of a crowd and he said, “January.

On Thursday morning mom and I went shopping at the Pavonia-Newport Mall. It was so much fun. . . and of course she bought me something that was nice too haha. After the mall, we went to the Tai food restaurant Spice near NYU and Jamal’s mom Pamela met us there for lunch. It was the first time they met and all went well. Phew! Afterwards, the three of us walked to Washington Square Park. . . . and then we went to Times Square to try and get some lottery tickets to the Broadway show, HAIRSPRAY. Even though there were three of us, none of us won a ticket amongst the small crowd at the lottery. Then, we walked over to the lottery for WICKED. We waited in line for awhile, and we didn’t plan on winning since there were about 250-300 people in line. The guy began calling the 13 names . . . . and I won! I was so excited. . . . . and then JAMAL WON TOO! I have never been so lucky I couldn’t believe that all three of us got to go to the show. Mom absolutely loved the show . . . . . and of course it was a nice date for Jamal and I too.

On Friday I babysat all day for a family on Central Park West. . . .and when I got off in the afternoon I walked over and met Jamal and Mom at the Met. We hung out there for awhile, then walked through the park and took the train to the village. My mom tried some sushi for the first time at Go Sushi . . . she was not too impressed but she didn’t throw up haha. Of course we loved it because sushi is awesome. Afterward, we all walked over to a movie theatre and went to The Inside Man. It was a good movie. . . of course anything with Denzel is usually decent.

On Saturday, mom and I hung out around the ground zero. We walked down to Trinity Church, Wall Street, St. Paul’s Church, and over to the waterfront. Then, we took the train to Hoboken and met my friend, Kai Hase, and her mother who was visiting from Hawaii. We ate at an adorable little Mexican restaurant in Hoboken, then strolled over to a park on the waterfront an enjoyed the beautiful view of Manhattan and talking before we headed back to the train station.

I was sick on Sunday, but mom cooked for Jamal and I. Too bad all I could eat was a piece of toast! We visited a lot and hung out, and on Sunday I said goodbye as I put my mom on a taxi to the airport. I was sad to see her go, but I will see her again in a month!

This week has been good, I have been catching up on work for my classes and I have a lot of tests to study for next week. I bought my plane ticket home for May 13. I still don’t know where I will be staying in Missoula, MT this summer but I have a couple prospects. Also, I’ll try to find a part-time job around the area.

I will definitely add some pictures when I get them, but they are all on my mom’s camera so. . . . hopefully she can figure out how to send a couple to me.

By the way, if anyone has any questions about anything, don’t hesitate to e-mail me. I could even give you my screen name or something. BYE!!
