Whoa. . . . !!

This is my last blog for the year, and I hope to see many of you who have read the blogs next year at Saint Peter’s. If you recognize me, be sure to introduce yourself! I have actually been home for a few days now; I left last Saturday but most people had finals on Monday and Tuesday. I got lucky and I have been home for almost a week.

Finals were hectic and I didn’t get time in for a blog. Jamal and I did make time to go to the awesome Hoboken Arts and Music Festival on May 7th, which is basically a big arts and crafts/street fair with live bands all day long. I didn’t have to take a few of my finals because I was satisfied with my grades, but I studied a lot for International Marketing and Accounting especially. I studied so much that by the time the tests came around I felt like I would go backward if I looked at any more notes. My accounting professor emailed me since and told me I got a 106% on my final. I don’t know how that is possible, but I’m not asking any questions!! What a relief.

Also, On Saturday was Peacock Palooza. Jamal and I went rollerblading along Battery park . . . . and we of course made it back in time to see a few of the bands play. There were live bands and free food from 2:00 pm until late into the night. It was great to see the last couple bands especially because they were made up of SPC students!

On the Monday of last week, I went in for an audition for a hair show they were having at The Studio Salon in Rockefeller Center. I got picked. . . . they probably saw long, never-before-dyed hair and jumped at the chance to change what they called, “virgin hair. The next day, Tuesday, I went into the salon along with seven other girls and we all got our hair cut and colored as part of “An Evening with Teri Dougherty where this hairstylist showed off her new “season of haircuts in front of a bunch of other hairstylists. I got my hair cut AND colored on stage. . . . .. and all the models got PAID. It was very exciting and I included a picture of all the girls when we were done. Some of them had crazy and frizzy hair before this. A word to the wise, however, many salons will do more than you’d like them to. If you’re not willing to do something crazy and possibly come out with a blue Mohawk, I would be wary of participating in hair shows. I got lucky and I absolutely love my hair. I love NYC. . . where else can you do random crazy things like get paid to get your hair and makeup done??

The week at home is winding down, I will soon be in Missoula, MT taking my summer class. I ordered my expensive (of course) intermediate accounting book from Amazon.com yesterday and I’m just waiting for it to arrive. . . . . .Maybe you will hear from me again next year, or at least another student blogger from SPC. I sure hope you enjoy your summer and . . . of course. . . . COME TO SAINT PETER’S!
