Turkey DAY!

I forgot what it is like to be going to the city every day. . . now that I am finally able to sit down and take a rest I realize just how fast I have been going the past few days. Tuesday Kev and I did some sight-seeing around the Ground Zero site/ battery park/ Wall Street area of Manhattan. Here is a picture of Kevin holding a skyscraper in his hand. You have no idea how many times I had to take this picture until it was just right!

Wednesday I woke up early and went to get student rush tickets to The Producers on Broadway. We dressed up and went to Benihana's for dinner first. Benihana's is a great Japanese restaurant where the chef comes out and prepares your food right in front of you, meanwhile providing great entertainment. Kevin got to try some sushi for the first time, and the shrimp and everything was so delicious. Here is a picture of our chef:

The Producers was a great show to go to afterwards. The seats were in the forth row, just a little to the side but we didn't miss much. I would highly recommend the show, and now I just need to watch the movie. We got home late and took a taxi home from Journal Square for only $5.

On Thanksgiving Dr. Surrey, a Sociology professor from Saint Peter's invited all students and faculty to his house for Thanksgiving Dinner. Kevin and I went along with quite a few international students and one staff member. We got to meet his family and they were all so warm and welcoming. It is a great thing for students who can't make it home to their families. Fortunately, Kevin did not make me stand like a packed sardine while we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I was happy we could avoid the city that day. It's funny how after you've been here awhile you start to avoid Times Square because of the huge crowds.

Friday was a busy day . . . . the bro and I went to Newport Mall in the morning, Saint Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center during the day and traveled up to Central Park and the Met that afternoon. Luckily for us the Metropolitan Museum of Art is open late on Friday until 9:00 pm. He liked the Met way better than the American Museum of Natural History and I practically had to drag him out of there at the end of the day. His favorite were the weapons and armor displays. I personally love looking at the the famous European paintings and of course the classic George Washington Crossing the Delaware. I have been to the Met many times now because people keep visiting me. . . lucky me! We came home and a taxi took Kevin back to LaGuardia at 3 AM this morning. I was not about to wander in the city that early and get no sleep so the taxi was a welcomed relief.

Now I am frantically cleaning and thinking about how I have soooo much homework still to do so I better get cracking.
