New Food. . . Great Friends . . . .
I have gotten to try so many new foods since I've been here. I really like this cold red bean drink they serve in the canteen with red beans and some kind of cream and sugar. . . at least I think that's what is in it. There are so many new things to try, both on campus and off. At the very large welcoming dinner that we had about a week ago, we had some very interesting foods. All of the meat was served with the heads still on the plate. Not exactly agreeable for the vegetarians of the group. . . but very culturally enlightening. Here is a picture of one of the dishes we were served.

Here is a picture of our group of exchange students enjoying a vegetarian meal before a visit to a temple. I have never eaten such good Tofu as I had during that meal.

Last night (Thursday) I went with the International club to a hot pot dinner. We had several dishes including fish balls, fish dumplings, corn, octopus balls, sausage, beef strips, and various vegetables that we put in a boiling pot of water with seasonings to cook and then enjoy. The meal was delicious!
Today I slept in because I don't have class on Friday, but luckily I got my classes figured out. I will be in China Marketing, Int'l Busines, and Consumer Behavior after all. . . along with Mandarin. I went to my first classes this week and I think I will really like them. They will be challenging but I feel like I will gain a new perspective here in my business classes. What a great place to be in the business world!
This weekend I am going with about ten fellow exchange students to the Island of Macau. I will be sure to give you breaking news and pictures of the Island. One of my roommates is from there so she was very helpful in suggesting where to go.
