Getting into the swing of things. . . .

The most important life-changing decision I have made recently was to accept a job offer for next fall at Deloitte in Minneapolis, MN where I interned this summer. Other than that, I have been through a few weeks of classes and only a couple more things to note. . .

Last weekend I made a trip by train (NJ transit) to Sloatsburg, NY to visit some old friends. My great Aunt (Sister Thadea) was a nun and she lived in Sloatsburg the few years prior to her passing away. I visited her before she passed away, along with meeting many of the other sisters in Sloatsburg. They live on an old Hamilton/ Morgan estate which was converted into a school and is now used as a retreat house, this is "St. Mary's Villa" where I stayed.

As many New Yorkers know, this is also a prime season for apple-picking, so here is a picture of Sister Annisia and I filling one of two HUGE bags of apples. In her words, "We should pick at least 5 bags." Good thing there were two of us with her to curb the apple picking or we would have been eating apples morning noon and night for weeks to come! I have never been to an orchard before so it was lots of fun for me. The orchard was north of where I was staying less than an hour.

The weekend was really a great time, and I hope to go back again soon!

Just last week was the Michaelmas Convocation, which is basically an awards ceremony for students. Here I am pictured (I'm standing on the far left) with 8 of the 9 other MNOP recipients. This stands for Most Noble Order of the Peacock, an award given to the ten seniors with the top GPA after their Junior year. There were many other awards given to students and seeing the faculty all dressed up is always entertaining!!

Until next time. . .

Happy Fall!
