Visitors, Inauguration, and Breast Cancer walk!
A couple weeks ago my older sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Scott came to the city for two consecutive weekends so we got to see each other for a few days. Between visits they drove up the coast to New England to relax, sight-see, and vacation. We ate some great food and did lots of fun touristy stuff since it was their first visit. They even came to SPC to check out where I go to school. I'll post a picture later since all of them are on my sister's compute. I also found out that the 17th time of going to the top of the Empire State building looks even better than the first 16 times!
This last Saturday was the Presidential Inauguration of our 22nd president, but first lay president Eugene Cornacchia, Ph.D. He's pretty popular around campus, I would say, as he's been around for for over 25 years first as a professor and then through the ranks of various administrative positions until his recent title of President. The roommates and I went to Mass at nearby Saint Aedan's Church in honor of the celebration and then the Inaugeration was in the afternoon. Megan, Jenny, Jolie, and I are celebrating at the reception following the Inaugeration in this picture.

This Morning (Sunday) at 8 Andrea Contreras and I (she's my old roomie!) woke up at the crack of dawn to walk in the Breast Cancer Awareness walk in Newark, NJ. Well, she woke me up 15 minutes after we were supposed to meet and I almost backed out because I was so tired but I went and had a great time! There were 7,000 walkers. I walked in memory of both of my Grandmothers, Anne Stensland and LeeBeth Hoversland who both passed away from the disease. I'll let you look on the Class of '08 for the pictures of that walk since they are on Andie's camera.
Today I was supposed to run 14 miles in preparation for the marathon November 17th in Phillie and I. . . . .didn't run. I was feeling like a big lazy bum and not wanting to run at all so I left it for tomorrow. Last Saturday was 18 miles and next is 20 . . . .then I start tapering from there.
Well, I can't be excited about this EVERY DAY!! :) I sure know I won't quit unless I get hurt though, and one bad day won't stop me from doing this, that's for sure.
My mom says she's worried about me with all this running. I told her, "I promise, it's the last one." Then I was talking to a guy in the gym the other day and he told me that's what he said 10 marathons ago. hmmmmm. . . . . I don't think so.
