Andrea- Hi, I'd like to introduce myself! =)
Since I already started blogging about my end of the semester, will be blogging about most of my summer and senior year I thought that I should introduce myself. My name is Andrea but most people call me Andie. I am a Biology and Criminal Justice major with a concentration in Investigative Science. One day I hope to go to medical school and become a Forensic Pathologist. I was born in Lake View Terrace, CA but grew up in Los Angeles. I am Mexican and Spanish (like from Spain). I speak both English and Spanish. I went to Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies from 4th grade until 12th grade. I pretty much grew up with all of my friends at home therefore I consider them as a part of my family. I have two brothers and two sisters (and I am the youngest). My family is very proud of me for going to a 4-year college since I am the first to do so in my immediate family. My favorite thing to do is to play tourist with my sister when I am home, since there is so much to see. My cousin Eddie is my hero because not only is he in the computer forensics field, went to college (which doesn't happen much in my extended family), and is very outgoing, but also because he is in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant and is currently serving in Iraq. Another hero of mine is Martin Luther King, Jr. because he was a peacemaker, promoted nonviolence and equal treatment of all people, and because we share a birthday. It's actually funny that I chose St. Peter's because Dr. King was granted a Doctor of Divinity honorary degree from this school in 1965. I work as a Desk Attendant for the Residence Halls, Lab Assistant for the Biology Department, and as a student-worker for the Athletics Department. I am part of many clubs on campus such as the Pavo Society, Latin American Service Organization, Peacock Pie (Yearbook), Beta Beta Beta (the Biological Honor Society), and the Aidan C. McMullen Chorale. Next semester I will be serving as the Treasurer of Beta Beta Beta and as Secretary of the McMullen Chorale.
I have a great passion for singing. It is my favorite thing to do. Even though I perform in different concerts and events I still get nervous when I do. Most of my friends are involved in either sports or different clubs. We have many different views on many things and we still continue to be friends since we are accepting of each other. My favorite thing to do with my friends at school is to dress up and have family sized dinner, since we are like a family. I am always up for an adventure, even if my schedule is jammed packed with things to do. I will try something different at least once and I am open to anything.
For the summer I will be going through the Kaplan course in order to study for the MCAT's which I will be taking in August. Also, I will be taking a summer course in order to fulfill all of my graduation requirements in time for next Spring. Well, enough about me. Now that you have a sense of who I am and what I do, then you will get why I do the things I do.
