The End Is Near!

This weekend, it finally hit me, school is almost over. Monday is the last day of class, and finals are done as of the 16th. On Friday night, I called Mom to ask her about possibly substitute teaching for the last month of school, since I’ll be home and they are always in need of substitutes at her school. Last night, she called back to tell me they were very excited that I was interested, and as soon as I come home, they’ll put me on their list. That excited me because I really like teaching. Educating the next generation makes me feel good about myself too.

This weekend, I really outdid my self with going out. Friday night, Francesca and I set off to go see Tarzan on Broadway. However, because of foot traffic and last minute line cutting drama, by the time we got to the window all the tickets were gone. Instead, we decided to go see “The Threepenny Opera because they offer a sweet student discount, I like the show, and Francesca hadn’t seen it. Once again, it was an excellent show. Ana Gasteyer and Cyndi Lauper are such nice people, they signed autographs and posed for pictures.

Saturday morning, I went to work, then to brunch in the cafeteria. The afternoon consisted of catching up on some school work, and catching some Zzz’s. That night, Jessica and Madonna, friends from school, invited me to go dancing with them at Webster Hall. We danced all night and had an amazing time. On Sunday morning when I woke up, I was in a musical mood. I went to the cafeteria and ate, then set out for the city. This time, I made sure I was at Tarzan especially early. I got 2 student rate tickets. Then, I called Francesca to tell her the good news, so she set off to meet me. $20 each for the front row, I was blown away. The show was completely amazing, again. It is very rare that I will go see a show with 2 weeks of seeing it the first time, but I made an exception for that, it was that good. After the show, we swung by KFC for dinner before returning to the dorm, where I did some homework, took a shower and went to bed. Yesterday was a usual school day, class, eating, and working. This afternoon, I am going off to Sloan-Kettering to give blood. There are a lot of people out there that need blood, and supplies are low. Plus, they have really good food that they give you, which only sweetens the deal!

Now I am really anxious to get home, especially since I have a job waiting for me! Since I’m probably going to be dealing with really small kids, this quote seemed fitting. “Hold my hand and were half way there, hold my hand and I’ll take you there.
