Off From School, But Back To Work!

Well, life certainly has been keeping me busy lately and it is only going to get busier. Let me fill you in on the goings on. A couple weeks ago, I got ambitious and set off to find another theater job. I asked around to all the shows that were nearing their opening to see if they needed any more ushers, and one said yes! I got called in for an interview, which I though went really well. A few hours later, they called me back to offer me a position and ask me to come in again to meet all my new co-workers. My joy quickly turned to sadness when they told me our first day of work was March 5th. I had scheduled a vacation with my sister to go to Florida to see my Grandmother because we both had the same spring break. So, I had to call and cancel my trip. Grandma understood, and my aunt graciously filled my spot. I also won't be able to work in the Admission Office any more. I need time for all my course work, and I will be working 8 shows a week.
I am really excited because the show looks pretty good. It's Boublil and Schonberg's "The Pirate Queen."

For those who aren't theater geeks like me, they are the creative team behind Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. I haven't had the pleasure of sitting through a full performance yet, but when I do, you all will get a full review. On top of going back to work, I had some free time this past weekend, so I decided to let my mother see my face. She hadn't seen me for more than one day on Thanksgiving and Christmas, since the summer. I only stayed home for one day, but it gave me a chance to see my family. The kiddies missed me! While I was home, I got some pictures from this summer. It is rare that everyone gets together at the same time because the older kids work, but here is a shot of my whole family.

This one is a personal favorite, it spans the years. The oldest and youngest of the family play happily together.

Being home made me miss my family, but luckily I am close enough that family is only a short bus or train trip away. While on the way home this weekend, I was rocking out to my iPod, and this song came on, and I thought the quote fit perfectly. Enjoy! "...if the same great dream is beating in each heart, there's no stopping what a fighting team can start..."
