Back in Jersey!!!
Well, after a busy and fun-filled summer I am finally back at SPC!!
My summer was amazing! First, I went to Europe with my mom and aunt and uncle. We flew into Rome, and went south to the Amalfi Coast for a few days, then back up to Rome where we took a Mediterranean Cruise that stopped at ports in Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Malta, and Sicily before it stopped back in Rome. All in all it was a GREAT trip; I loved all the exotic and fun ports as well as the fun and relaxing time with my family. Four days after I flew home from Rome, I was again on a plane to Europe, but this time with a little different purpose. Myself, and a group of 10 other individuals from my church at home all flew to Cluj, Romania. From there we took a train into the Transylvania Mountains were we ran a children’s camp. It was SO much fun, I had an AMAZING time with all the kids.
After Romania, I came back home and spent time with my friends and family and helped my parents add on to our house in time for some very special visitors….My SPC friends flew out to visit for the last weekend in July!! Brett from New Hampshire, Chelsea from Ohio, and Jackie from New York, all came to California for the first time, along with Nik, from northern California. We had an absolutely wonderful time….It was SO much fun for me to show everyone around my amazing state, as well as a chance for my friends and family from home to meet the people who are so essential to my life here. After they left, I had a little more time to spend with my friend and family from home before it was time to fly back….
I’ve actually been back in Jersey City for nearly a month. I flew back to school early for RA (Resident Assistant) training. We were here for about 10 days before the incoming freshmen moved in, preparing for their arrival. Training was good, but I was really excited once everyone was moved in and classes started. This semester I am taking A natomy & Physiology with a lab, Chemistry with a lab, African Literature, Survey of the Old Testament, and Christian Medical Ethics. And so far, all of my classes have been amazing!
Yesterday evening, I ran down to the waterfront to look at to Manhattan as the sun set. There were lots of people down there because the lights in remembrance of the Twin Towers were lit. It was so sad, but I was so glad I got to go.
More to come later!
