« [My Weekend] | Main | Price Is Right! »

Well, I've only been back for a few weeks, but its already that time in the semester where things are heating up academically. Papers are due, first tests are on the horizon and books need to be read. It's a nice time though, because even though there's a lot to do, I feel challenged, and not in the overwhelmed in the I-haven't-slept-for-3-days-studying-Chemistry kind of way.

I've also been busy doing extracurricular things. Last weekend, I went to the city for dinner and to get some studying done. It was nice to be able to just go into the city, walk around, get some dinner and study. Even after having been here for 3 semesters, it still never ceases to amaze me that I can just hop on the PATH and hop on over to one of the greatest cities in the world. Over half of my best friends from home have never even been able to visit NYC and I'm able to just pop over for dinner and a study break. Amazing. Last weekend I also went to the Pavonia/Newport Mall with my old roommate Jackie, and we saw "Catch & Release". I loved it!!! It was super cute; we had a lot of fun. And when I came home, my roommates had dinner for me! It was so sweet; I love living the on-campus apartments and our ability to cook for ourselves!

This week was busy with classes (my first labs-- Cell Bio and Chem....both on Tuesday =/ ), work (Admissions), and helping out at my church. I've been volunteering at an after-school program we have at the church I go to (just a few blocks from school!). Tuesdays and Thursdays we have the neighborhood kids come over and run an after-school program and tutoring center for them, which is time-consuming, but actually really fun and rewarding. Then on Tuesday nights, I babysit at my church for families taking ESL (English as a Second Language) classes.

But, despite all the busyness, I've still been able to have fun, like last night when me and my friend Chelsea went to the Peacock Variety Show, put on by our own Student-run theater group, Argus Eyes.

And, I have a lot to look forward to! This week (Wednesday) is my Price Is Right debut! It's so funny because so many people at the school know about it and come up to me telling me that they're going to watch and/or tape it! I'll be standing in line in Enrollment Services, eating the the caf, or working at the front desk in Admissions, and people will come up to me and ask me about it! Thats part of what I love about going to a small school, we really are a community that knows and cares about each other. And, a month from today, I'll be flying to China!!!!!!!! =D
