Tribute to a pre-med
Right now i’m at Starbucks with Caitlin and Whitney. My notes for that accounting test, which will take place in less than twenty-four hours, are sitting un-studied in my lap. The idea was to isolate myself with my accounting notes, where I would have no choice but to study them…that worked for about three minutes, until i realized, hey! - i could write a quick blog. Obviously i have my priorities all figured out.
So…at this very moment Whitney, our pre-med major, is telling us with great excitement what happens when you bleed. And I’m sitting here nodding, typing, and thinking, i really have no idea what you’re talking about, but yay for blood clotting…i think.
A similar event took place yesterday. This time I was studying in Caitlin and Whitney’s room where I learned all about the wonders of the kidney. (and by studying, i mean my lap was supporting the weight of my very closed accounting book, humm…i think i see a pattern.) Anyway, apparently the kidney does this automatic process with these little loop things, all facing inward, that take water and stuff down this tube deal that looks like a hunk of meat, then it takes the stuff out of the water and exchanges it with other stuff and changes it into something else that travels some more to a place where it is used by even more tube things and converted into a bunch of little doohickeys that are evidently really important to my survival. and i’m just thinking, Thank God for involuntary muscles.
This is how studying goes most of the time. But I really enjoy it. Keeps life interesting.
that is all.
maddness
