Weekend = game + audition + party + movie = awesomeness
That’s some high-level mathematics people. For the non-math majors out there in Internet land, that equation means this last weekend was jam packed with awesomeness. On Friday, I got to webcast a Trinity Women’s basketball game with my buddy Leda. It was insanely fun. For almost two seasons, believe it or not, this little 5’2’’ point guard actually played on the bball team; but I decided to hang up my jersey in January ‘07 to pursue acting. Yet, I still had time to build great friendships with the players and coaches, which came in handy during the commentary. I won't let my modesty get in the way of mentioning that Leda and I made quite a team.

YOU: Wow! Not only can I absorb inherent wisdom through her written words, but now I can also listen to her melodious voice over the Internet.
ME: Yes, you can! Just go to the Trinity Athletics website, find out when the women have their next game, then just listen in at that time and you might be lucky enough to catch my brilliant insights into the game of basketball.
YOU: Yay! Thank you so much.
ME: You are welcome.
Friday night, I baked cookies. Bam! I am a cookie baker. A chef of the cookie variety. double Bam! Okay, so Kaki and Caitlin did most of the work, while Alex and I tried to figure out what was wrong with Bentley’s Internet connection. (Kaki, Caitlin, and Alex are some pretty amazing folk who live on the hall, and Bentley is my computer’s name: Bentley, Bentley McDuff.) But, and that is one big BUT, I decorated seven of the eighty cookies, and man were those seven cookies sexy.

The pictures don’t do them justice. What were the cookies for you ask? Is it so wrong to bake cookies just for the sake of baking? No! but they actually had a purpose…and i’ll get to that in a sec, i promise.
Saturday afternoon I was fortunate enough to attend the callback auditions for Dangerous Liaisons, one of next semester’s main stage shows. Not only was the stage bombarded with wonderful talent, but also these were the most efficiently run callbacks I’ve ever been apart of. We were there and up on stage when the director needed us, and we were dismissed when he didn’t – it was great.
We left the discussion of the cookies earlier, and I promised I’d return to them. Your patience has paid off. Saturday evening we surprised Philip, yet another friend (yes, i know, i have many), at the Mennonite Church for his potluck birthday bash.

And what did we bring to the dinner? None other than seventy-three normal cookies, and seven extremely sexy cookies. (now, here i only speak to the cookies’ appearance; their taste was in a whole other realm of goodness. Kaki’s dad happens to be an expert cookie chef, and some of that expertise has rubbed off on his daughter, who managed to bake these cookies to a gooey goodness – no matter what you say Caitlin, they were done enough.) At the party, the eating was followed by general shenanigans, which included dancing and rolling about on a dolly for furniture. After the madness, I returned to my room, where my roomie, Janet, and I finished the evening out with our new favorite movie, Chocolat.
Sunday held yet another blast of awesomeness with filming for FOUND, Vespers and cast list postings…however, due to the length of this blog and my lack of desire to continue your enlightenment, i’ll save that tale for another time. So that’s my weekend, take it or leave it – end of story. Bam!
that is all.
