Trial by stone!

I just saw The Dark Crystal for the first time. Okay, I'm sorry to those of you who are lovers, but what? What a messed up flick! Those puppets were frickin scary, man! I was shocked it was supposed to be a family movie because I found myself cringing or jumping at things. Even the little pillbug with fur gave me a heart attack when it jumped out of the log with that Pit of Sarlacc for a mouth. Aaaaaanyway though, at one point the Skekses (bad guys) are arguing with one another over who should be the new emperor, and eventually two of them stare each other down and then scream "TRIAL BY STOOOOOONE!!!!" And they all repeat it and, forgive me, but it might have been one of the funniest things I have ever seen and I laughed my ass off. Ahhh, the puppet drama...

So I haven't been too good about keeping up with my blog lately. Apologies to all. This break has been completely necessary and very relaxing, although the semester turned out to be my best, which is shocking because it has also been my most stressful. That aside, it was definitely a GPA booster and pretty fun. Mostly been hanging around the house or out with friends seeing movies and the like.

Oh, and may I just say, hasn't this been a good holiday for movies? Wow. Juno and Sweeney Todd, right up at the top for me. Enchanted was cute too and I still need to see Atonement, but I think this has been a pretty good box office season.

I've also been revising the script for the Broadway Revue. I had to do it just recently because one of our actors is ill and had to drop out, unfortunately. Thus I had to write a character out of the show, which turned out to be a lot easier than I imagined it would be.

I've been my big geeky self and playing Dungeons and Dragons with my fellow geek friends at home. My battle sorcerer rocks though! You... you can relate, right? No? Not so much? Yeah, ok...

Ooh, go play Rock Band. Dude, that game totally (no pun intended) rocks! You have a microphone, guitar, and drums and you just do this Karaoke Revolution/Guitar Hero/drum game combination game! So much fun! I don't own it unfortunately, but it's awesome nonetheless.

I got some nice Christmas presents, some DVD's, some Wii games, lots of clothes, nothing worth throwing out. It's so interesting to me that the days leading up to Christmas Day used to tear me to pieces waiting for the day when I could rip open some presents. Now it's Christmas Eve and I'm thinking "Huh...... Got that present thing to do tomorrow...." How about that?

Went to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra? Oh yes, that was me. Dude, I know I've seen them before, but WOOOOHOOOOOHOOOWWW!!! So much fun! The lights and the music and..... aarrrrgh. So good.

My family and I took a short vacation in Wimberley, a small town just outside of San Marcos. We used to own a river house there, so we stayed in a bed and breakfast nearby our old house. It was the most relaxing experience. Granted I was playing Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy for most of it, but it was just what I needed. If you are ever there over the holidays, go see the Trail of Lights. Magical.

I got to see my high school friends on New Year's Eve! I don't get to actually see them very often except for those who I keep up with and are my closest friends. It was so good to see everyone and see who changed and who didn't change and all that jazz. That's something that's worth doing after you graduate.

Well, semester starts back up soon. We've got Broadway Revue to put up, Les Liaisons to get ready for, a choir tour in New Mexico, ADAM PASCAL IS COMING TO TRINITY... should be pretty awesome!

Hey! How was Super Mario Galaxy?? I collected 120 stars but the last one is going to be killer. Those purple coins brought me to tears. Some of the levels were just plain difficult but it was all really fun!

I went to the TSO concert too. Freakin amazing!!! The queen of the night chick even did better this year. :)
