Time For Spring!!!
Hiya Everyone!!!
Welcome back from break! I hope everyone was able to find some time to relax. I was very busy for my little sisters ceremony (which I will be talking about in another blog), but it was rewarding in the end! ^^ If you weren't able to relax do not fret for we only have about 30 days of classes left (Yes, it’s that close!!!) and you should be able to relax some over the summer.
Today I want to post a shorter blog about plane trips. I know we have already done this, but if you read about this now and store it in your memory maybe you will come back to check up and maybe take some of my suggestions.
First I want to address what to do when you are on a flight. For many that attend this school you are able to drive to and from school easily. But others (such as myself) have to take a plane flight to get home. Depending on the time of day the flight is and how long the flight is there are various activities you can participate in. When I take a trip I make sure I have a book to read, some puzzles, my laptop and a pillow. I'm sure you can guess what one would do with these objects. Most of the time I sleep because I lose time flying across time zones so I have to make up for it, but on my way back I try to entertain myself as much as possible to stay awake. This is something you should try to do when crossing time zones because it will allow the transition to come easier to you. Also, I find that airplanes can get pretty cold, especially by the window, so I bring an extra pair of socks or slippers. This way when you are in the air you can switch shoes and keep your feet warm. If your feet are warm, the rest of your body will follow suit. One other thing you can do is strike a conversation with the person next to you. Our generation has the worst social skills in history, so what better place to practice then on a plane. Now, I don't mean bombard your neighbor, but introduce yourself, ask them where they are going and why. If they are distant then stop, but it’s likely you will find the person is happy to find a companion. If you are lucky you may make a connection for the future. I've met some pretty interesting characters and remember them to this day. Now, what I do to pass the time may not suit your fancy, so I encourage you to post your ideas in a comment and get a discussion started!
The second thing I want to talk about it transportation to and from the airport. This came to my attention when I arrive Monday morning from an overnight flight and learned that my original transportation would not be able to pick me up. So, I started thinking of ways to avoid that mess in the future. First, make sure you have some way to go to or leave the airport. I don't drive and park because I don't want to pay the money it would take to keep it there. If you drive yourself, then you can disregard this. ^^ Second, make sure you have a back up form or transportation. I would have made plans for one of my others friends to be available if needed. Next, if neither of my first two plans fell through I would have bus and taxi information and extra money on me. I always carry taxi money with me in case of an emergency. You never know when something is going to happen. If you have the money and information you can catch a bus or taxi if one is available. As I said before, maybe these aren't things you would perform or suggest, so please post a comment and share what you have to say!
Again, I hope everyone had a great break! I know it’s a bit sucky (maybe more than a bit for others) to go home for a week only to come back to school, but as I said we will be home again in no time!!! XD As always, if you want me to bring attention to something please post a comment and I will be sure to address it in my next blog! Thanks for reading again!
Merry Meet and Farewell for now!!!
PS.
Don’t' forget about Hall Olympics! Tonight was a trivia game and there will be more activities throughout the week. Go and support your dorm for a pretty awesome prize!!! See ya next time!
