A Sysko Filled Weekend!

Hey everyone!!
I hope your weekend went well! I spent it away from campus, which was thoroughly exciting! I love campus, but it is really nice to get off sometimes and since I am carless, me getting off does not happen often. But, anyways I think I mentioned that my friend, Aubrey, has a horse, well we went riding, which was awesome!

That’s Sysko and Aubrey. Sysko was really dirty and it was really cold outside!

Aubrey was actually cantering...while I was merely attempting to do so...

Just Sysko and me!

Here is me trying to canter…usually we jump, but the ground was too cold and hard. and actually I wasn't even really cantering on my own, I realized after a while, that Sysko was responding to Aubrey's whip, not me...lol

We had to wake up really early for her to teach a lesson, but her student was a no-show, so she gave me the lesson instead, which was wicked fun, but I don’t think I was the best student…apparently, my heels were totally up (are they are supposed to be down?) and I was pulling too hard (which I thought was how you were supposed to stop…lol) No matter, it was a great way to spend a Saturday!

We also baked and cooked, but it didn’t turn out so well, since, I am definitely not a chef. I was the designated ingredient reader, but I forgot that certain ingredients go in at different times, so instead of reading how to add them, we just added them all together….haha oops….but the ginger bread turned out amazing anyways!! : )

Yesterday, I went to another big event! Basically, The Maine Mall in South Portland claimed Habitat for Humanity as their charity for the year, so all these events throughout the year, at the mall are supporting Habitat, and yesterday was Festival of Giving. So, last night we sold these $5.00 tickets that gave you like tons and tons of discounts and sales. But, it was not a real huge turnout, so we ended up just sitting there and talking. My group was in front of Sears, but Sears was not participating, so like an hour in, all the lights in and around Sears turned off, so it was pretty dull. Overall, though every bit counts and we did make some money.

Other Maine Mall habitat fundraisers are the Rockin’ Shoppin’ Eve’s concession stand (so if you are there stop by and buy some hot cocoa from UNE habitaters!!) and, something that I don’t know much about, but will definitely keep you posted on, Hunks for Habitat, which is apparently a male auction that benefits us 100%...I know quite interesting, huh?

Finally, I said I’d mention the Sex Show, which I am helping planning with Hall Council, and the new info is that it is on November 30th and that John Tumiel is hosting. It should be really fun and the advertisements are so funny, so the event should be hilarious!

If you wanna chek out more on The Maine Mall, here is their website: www.mainemall.com/

Well, hope you have a nice Thanksgiving and talk to you later! Oh and next time I will definitely have a podcast, but I am still getting used to the equipment…so, yeah, something else to look forward to!
