Eventful weekend and... start of final studying

Hey guys!
This week has been so beautiful! I have spent a few days at the beach, tanning, which is really one of the best parts of living here. Literally, I can leave my dorm room and be at the beach in five minutes flat, walking.

the sun was so nice!

But, stress from finals is starting to get to everyone. So, basically everyone is pretty grumpy and busy with studying. So, this week was pretty lame. Although, it was my last week of work and my boss brought in a sheet cake one night and boxes upon boxes of pizza and cinnamon sticks another. And we played games while we worked.

Then the weekend came…wow what an eventful weekend! So, Friday I went up with some equestrian team members to a barn up in Augusta. It was a super fun trip, other than one of the girls did a somersault off a horse and broke her fall with her head. Luckily, she was okay. After that we did not stay long. On the way back we ate some yummy Panera sandwiches and drank some yummy starbucks coffee. And then back to school… to do homework! Then on Friday night, in an emergency Aubrey’s dad had to fly out of the Portland airport. So, Saturday Aubrey and I had to pick up his car from the airport.

No problem right? Wrong! We had no car. So, we took the Nor’easter Express to downtown Biddeford. Then switched to the intercity bus to Portland, but we had to wait an hour on the street corner outside of the Happy Dragon, which was not pleasant. Then after an hour bus ride we got to the Maine Mall. There we called a random taxi. We waited fifteen minutes for the taxi and then took a ten minute taxi ride to the airport.

But, the fun did not stop there. So, the parking lot that was deemed ‘long term parking’ was like ten parking lots into one. We had no clue where the car was and the taxi driver did not even know if this was the right parking lot. So we started going here and there and up and down. Just looking everywhere! No car. We finally called her dad. He said it was three lanes away from the exit. But, we didn’t know where the exit was. Finally, after much searching we found the car. We were skipping and hollering and whooping and hooraying.

Then Aubrey pulled out the hide-a-key and it was not there. The spare keys were there, there being inside the car. But the hide-a-key was not! So, we were locked out. We went to talk to the security guards, who were nonexistent. When we found one she said that only if we had AAA could we get help. So, Aubrey’s dad ended up calling their pastor who was headed to Portland anyways and he brought us the extra key from Aubrey’s house.

So, then we waited another hour inside the airport. And can I tell you how awesome the toilet seats are? They have moveable seat covers! = ) That was really cool! We had much laughs and did some yoga. And waited and waited some more. And played in the revolving doors. Then finally the keys came. We skipped and ran and opened the doors! We stepped in and started the car and we were off!

We first stopped for a chocolate break, after a five hour exhausting adventure, you need chocolate! Then we headed back to school and off to see Sysko. I am getting to the point I am having to memorize five million things at once, so all I can say about the ride, was that it was frustrating!

Then we went to Hannaford’s and had a junk food explosion. Frozen fried food and chocolate and twizzlers and a new chick flick. It was the only way to end such a up-and down weekend.

Unfortunately, we missed Hanson! Yes, Hanson came to UNE. Every year there is this huge outside concert brought to by the environmental club and the student government and Hanson played as the big group year. Everyone could not stop talking about it and had so much fun!

Now, today we woke up and I helped Aubrey with nursery duty at church. Which was fine since we had three very easy kids and then we went to ride Sysko and I really had my best ride ever! I jumped over poles, made it almost two times around the ring trotting and am starting to really get everything [the five million things you have to memorize] under control.

and now... the studying for finals begins...

I hope the end of the year is suiting you well, have a nice week.
