The lead up to Halloween

Hey guys!
I hope you had a great week! Mine was awesome! First I went riding twice and jumped both times and it was amazing! Then I went to a Tom Allen and Susan Collins debate in Portland and a rally and it was so much fun too! There so many people and it was really cool being there!

This is the rally outside before the debate began.

The actual debate.

Then on Saturday I did Habitat for Humanity with Edge (the Christian group on campus). It was in Portland again, the same place I did it before. And we painted again. I also seem to be painting. But, it was super fun! I actually don’t have any pictures, because my computer is broken and they are all on it. So, sorry for that.

And Saturday was The Rave (this huge Halloween dance oncampus), but none of us wanted to go. So after Habitat we we decided we'd go to this nightime cornmaze. And because we wanted to be scared we watched Signs before. It didn’t really scare us later though. But anyways the corn maze was awesome! It was so big!! Which was good, because it made it fun, but bad bad, because we actually got separated so it ended up just me and Megan together and everyone elsewhere. But, it was still awesome!

This is part of the group before we got seperated. It was raining. lol

There were these numbers to show you if you were on the right track. We got so lost that this was the first one we found. Then we found 6, 7, 8 and 10. lol

This is Megan and #8. After we found this one, we got wicked lost!

9.jpg
But we made it out! yay!

The best part of the corn maze though was these adorable cows! They were so cute! I have a thing for animals and I really wanted to take one home! There were so friendly and soft and just adorable!!!

Aren't they so cute!!??

And the week is like wicked hard! I have 2 papers and 2 tests… ahh! Anyways, hope yours is less stressful! Ttyl!

Riding, Baking and SMALLVILLE! = )

Hey guys! So, this week was super fun! Firstly, I got another job. And now I also do research for the poli-sci department. It is really awesome, because its fun and it'll be helpful with major and I can to get to know my professors better too!

I also got to have a much needed movie night (well actually three) with friends and it is official.. I am addicted to Smallville! I love it! It is so awesome and just so everyone knows Lex Luther is totally my favorite person on the show!!!! And while all this movie watching was happening (or TV watching) we were also baking. Check out this awesome cheesecake we made!

pie1.JPG
It was a strawberry one. And it might look iffy, but it was super ymmy! And I have to say that cheesecake is a necessity in dorms!

And then there was also some riding. It was super fun and I jumped like the whole time (and almost fell off the horse lots) but it was like the first time I actually did a jumping course, which was super fun! And so here is some amazing pictures of us at the barn!

This is Syskadoodle!! Isn't she super pretty?

And me and the most friendly, soft barn cat ever! His name is Jack and he is super sweet!!

And also this week Edge, which is a kind of Christian group on campus, went to this soup kitchen to help out. It was in Portland and it was so funny, because the directions we had led us to this empty parking lot outside of an office building. And we had like no clue where to go. So, we had to ask some people and ended up like 5 blocks away from it. So, we were like late and there were so many volunteers, so we ended up just doing dishes and mopping. But, it was still fun. Here is some pictures of that.

And now its Monday again.... This week is going to be busy, but next weekend is another habitat day and then all my friends and I are going to this night maze and The Rave is happening (the huge Halloween dance on campus). So another fun weekend to look forward to! Hope you guys have a fun week! = )

Fall Long Weekend!!!

Hey guys,
so today is Columbus day which means that we don't have school! yay! And so this weekend everyone left... except me. haha, actually I was supposed to go to New Hampshire with a friend, but that fell through last minute. Instead I did lots of homework, watched movies and did a Habitat workday on Saturday. Here are some pictures from that:

The whole group.

These are the houses we were working on. They are the same ones in my other blog, but way farther along! I love how you see them all progress.

And so our project was painting all day and so luckily in preperation for this I wore the same clothes I wore last time and got covered in paint again (I don't know it how it always seems to happen to me lolz). Basically, we were painting these long boards that we going to go up on the houses and there were TONS of them. This is how many we ended up painting and that wasn't even half!

And here is a couple photos of us just working.

and so this week is going to be super busy (like always), but next weekend is Family and Friends weekend, which is super exciting with activities like scuba diving, open mic night and a lobster dinner. And on Saturday night I am going to a state wide colleg democrats conference in Orno, which is also super exciting. Anyways, I hope you have a good week! ttyl!

Tom Allen and Rock The Vote!

Hey guys! This has been a super week! Well, mostly just Saturday and the lead up to it.
So it started with when) Tom Allen came on Saturday afternoon. As a Secretary of UNE Democrats (who brought him) I was one of the people in charge of setting up and walking him in. It was really awesome meeting him again and hearing him talk about why we (this generation) should get involved with the election in this last 30 days and how this huge financial crisis really affects us. He is super nice and way down to Earth! Here’s a picture from the last time I met him (at this Democratic convention thing up in Lewiston). I didn’t get any pictures of Saturday’s event.

Then Saturday night was Rock The Vote. It was so much fun! There was three bands and Shane from Road Rules. There were also games like pin the tail on the donkey and guess that candidate. The prizes? Life size McCain and Obama cardboard cutouts!! The UNE Democrats said if we won Obama then we would be bringing him out to dinner one night. I don’t know who won, but I really hope it was one of us! Now I could talk way more about how awesome it was, but I’ll just let my pictures do the talking:

This is my friend Mike between McCain and Obama... as you can probably tell he doesn't know who he is going to vote for yet.

This is me trying to pin the tail on the Obama donkey. Okay so I was so far off that I was like on the other wall. It was so hilariously bad!

This is the cute our little UNE Democrats booth!

DSCN166467.JPG
This is one of the bands who played, well the lead singer for one of the bands. Everyone was really good and super nice!

Anyways, so that was my Saturday. Now I have 2 HUGE tests this week and a debate for my congress class, so I have a lot of work. But, next Saturday is Habitat's 2nd work day in Portland and the long weekend, so some stuff to look forward to at least. I hope you guys had a fun weekend and hope you have a nice week ahead of you! = )
