I Can Cry If I Want To
Mood: Pumped
Listening to: It's my party by Lesley Gore
Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone
Judy left the same time
Why was he holding her hand
When he's supposed to be mine
It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you
Playin' my records, keep dancin' all night
Leave me alone for a while
'Till Johnny's dancin' with me
I've got no reason to smile
It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you
[Lead Break]
Judy and Johnny just walked through the door
Like a queen with her king
Oh what a birthday surprise
Judy's wearin' his ring
It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you
So let me just say it was just my BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! Just turned 19 and it was probably the best birthday EVER!!!!!!!!!! Lets see first my roommates decorated..no scratch that.. barricaded my with toilet paper, bottles, cans, duck tape, and even a pumpkin? Then at the stroke of midnight started banging on my door trying to wake me up. So I get up and open the door and they all scream happy birthday and start singing and send me through the monsoon of toilet paper. It was fun!! Then Jessy calls and wished me a happy birthday as well as a few other friends. Oh and I cant for get about the 57 messages on facebook wishing me a Happy Birthday.
So of course in honor of the day I ran around blasting the song "Its my Party" which is the official theme song of all birthdays. In case you didn't know. THENNNNNNNNNN my friend Megan took me to a concert on Tremont Street and let me just tell you it was incredible! We saw....the devil wears prada, emery, scary kids scaring kids, and chiodos. It was such a good show. Oh and all those bands are hardcore, incase you didn't recognize any of them.
But anyway of course I had to be in the center of all the action so at first we stood back and scoped out the scene then, I got right up to the front where the security guard actually poured water in my mouth so the girls in the front wouldnt die. Then when Chiodos came on the crowd went while because when that guy says to jump. You jump. And we JUMPPEDDDDD. The entire place went nuts and I got thrown into the mosh pit, where I would like to say I held my own and was quite proud. I got hit in the face twice and have a nice shiner but it was so worth it. Ha, I've been showing everyone my black eye this week cause I am just so excited 1. that i was there and 2. that I went into the pit and SURVIVED with the big boys.
So finally when the night was done Megan and I headed back to our dorms to finish our projects and just sit there and smile thinking OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!!
PS!!!!
MY HAIR IS GROWING BACK!!!

so what did I do...
I GOT A HAIRCUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What to Know About WIT. Dedicated to: Hopefuls
Ok first of all DO NOT listen to any of the rumors, because to be frank they aren't true. Yes you have work but its not what you think, its more time consuming rather than a lot. For example a drawing will take you about 8 hours on average but that’s all you will have to do and if you like to draw it definitely wont seem like "work." Also you will get plenty of sleep, the only thing that might prevent that is 1) the red sox winning again lol 2) your hanging out with your roommates and you lose track of time 3) you wait to the last minute to do your project which I highly suggest you don't do.
The classes are easy too for example I am taking a lecture, drawing, math and English class. The lecture is an hour and 20 minutes and all you have to do is stay awake and take good notes AND if you aren't a good note taker you can go to the center for teaching and learning and pick up a copy of the notes from someone else who takes good ones (maybe you will get some of mine). Then you have your drawing class and basically you well draw. Besides that you critique your classmate's work and some teachers even let you start your projects in class.
As for math and English make sure to do well on your placement exams in the summer because what they don't tell you is you can place out of the class and will be allowed to take something else. However, I am in Math 1 now and will be taking math 2 in the spring (then I am done with math FOREVER) and its SOOOOOO EASYYYYYYYY!!!! We learned the Pythagorean theorem and other basic algebra and geometry, but if you do have trouble there are plenty of people who can tutor you. And then last but not least English is basically all dependent on the teacher everyone is different. I sit there and take notes and listen to my teacher talk, we don't have any homework, and it’s pretty easy too.
Honestly, college is not as hard and scary as people make it out to be so don't worry. As for the campus it’s a closed one, basically it takes me 6 minutes (yes I timed it once) to get from my dorm to my farthest class. Its a small campus and is easy to get around. Plus we also have the C store which is like a convenient store on campus that you can use your meal plan to buy stuff, like late night snacks, food, drink, and a whole bunch of random stuff. We also have a school store but only buy your architecture kit from there because it is much cheaper.
Everything else you should either go to Utrek (on the corner of Mass Ave and Huntington) or Blick (near Fenway) both of which are about a 10-15 minute walk and if you get the cards you get tons of discounts not to mention they are about half the price of the school store. Oh and if you are wondering how I know the price of the arch kit me and my friends actually went to both store and compared the prices and the school store is your best bet.
As for the food its pretty good we have everything you can think of from soup, salad, a sandwich station, hot meals, hamburgers fries, specialty meals (like sometimes we get sushi) and basically anything you can think of. Fresh fruits, tea, soda, just everything. AND THEN if you still cant find anything that you like you can also go to MASS art which is another school in the Fenway that allows you to eat at there cafe. So if you’re a vegetarian or like organic stuff this is more of the place for you. And then if worse comes to worse there are vending machines in the building, however I don’t think you’d last long on candy bars and popcorn.
Then of course there is the big question of.....what is there to do in Boston? Well HELLLOOOOOOOO its Boston one of the greatest cities in the world there is more things to do than you can think of. There is awesome shopping!!! Newbury Street, Harvard Square, Quincy Market and a ton of other places. Or you can go to a museum I recommend going to some they are actually a lot more interesting than you would think like the museum of science is ridiculous. Also you can go to a club, go out to eat, go dancing, bowling, play pool, ice skating, roller blading, duck tour, dances, parties…. And welll you get the idea. So don't worry there is something to do all the time.
So I think that's about it. I LOVE ARCHITECTURE, and I'm not even exaggerating if you have any more questions, concerns, comments, suggestions, anything at all let me know feel free to email me at Casamentod@wit.edu. OH and I also recommend coming to the women's overnight, I went and I ended up meeting this girl there, and low and behold we met up again during orientation and are now best friends. Hope I helped!!!!

To the end of the WORLD
Mood: Content
Listening to: Glamorous by Fergie
So I am doing this program called the SHOWA Connection which is when you are paired with 2 or 3 girls who have come from Japan to study in America. The are all English majors, and all girls, and all required to come here for a minimum of 5 months or can stay for the longer term of 15 months. So basically you are hooked up with them and have to hang out 5 times.
The first time you go to there school which is called SHOWA Boston where they feed you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You play games, learn origami, how to write in Japanese, and even get dressed up in traditional Japanese clothing. It is so much fun and the girls are crazy nice. It is also so funny how much you have in common as well as how incredibly different they are.

Then on the second visit my three girls, Anna, Ayano, and Mayue came to Wentworth and attended class with me. I don't think they enjoyed it that much because it was lecture and I don't think they really understood what we were talking about. But afterwards we took a walk down to a church to help explain to them what we learned in class. Then to lunch at Mass Art and finally to my dorm to meet all my roommates.

Finally, for our third visit we had a blast!!! They came last friday and basically we had a dance party with everything from the Cotton Eyed Joe to Soulja Boy to Hannah Montana to Numa Numa to Japanese Idol. Lets just say it was an interesting night. I think they had fun and they really broke out of their shell and danced too. Props to my suitemates for helping. Then off to dinner at Beatty where we all sat quietly because we were exhausted from dancing for 3 hours. And finally the freezing trek back to the T stop where we had perfect timing and the T pulled up just as we got there.

So far we have one more visit on December 7th which is going to be sad because they will be going back to Japan soon after that. We are going to a Wentworth Hockey game with another SHOWA Connector and his 2 girls. It has been fun and an incredible experience. I truely made 3 new friends and am going to miss them

Listening to: Summer Skin by Death Cab for Cutie
Mood: Tired
Ok so as you all know Hall-o-ween was recently, ok so maybe not that recently because I am alittle behind but you know how it is. The days literally fly by and before you know it its almost the end of the semester. But anyway this Halloween was quite exciting to say the least which is why I MUST tell you about it.
On the Saturday before it BAGLY (Boston's Alliance for Gay and Lesbian Youth) holds an annual Halloween dance which to be honest I have been looking forward to going since well last year when I first heard about it. Its basically a giant costume party..and whose gonna pass that up? Not me!! So I got all dressed up in one of my costumes, I was a nurse, but not a slutty one it was actually very cute!
Then I walked down to Best Buy and met up with my friend Megan, who I knew from back home (New Jersey) and presently attends Wheelock and about 4 of her other friends all of which I must meantion were straight hence the "Alliance" part. We also met up with Dylan and ran into a few other familiar faces while we were there. But after boarding the T, dancing in the streets with some old people, running around like nuts, we finally got there. Checked our bags in, stuffed our tickets down our shirts, and yes I mean WE, including Aaron, and ran for a good spot on the dance floor. Oh by the way Aaron is one of Megan's friend from school who if you haven't figured it out yet is also gay, he was a genie and let me just tell you he looked awesome!
Now don't get me wrong when I say good spot, I don't mean on the side or in the back...I MEANNNN in the VERY MIDDLE of the action and or ON STAGE! Oh yes we were shakin our bon bons on stage. We were rocking out the whole night! It was soooo much fun. But the funny thing about these dances are YOU HAVE to just keep dancing because you honestly don't know whose straight, gay, guy, girl, both, neither. So you just dance and you don't even think about it because in reality does it even matter?
Shouldn't that just be how life is anyway; when you don't judge or analyze everyone and everything you just dance. You just close your eyes and feel the rhythm of the music, you open them and you laugh with your friends, you glance over and see a million people doing exactly the same. You kiss, you move, you jump, and sing, and swing, and sweat, and laugh, and have fun. And when its finally all over you end up in the same place as everyone else; in line to check out.
Now think about that.

Alittle AHEAD Alittle behind
Listening to: Motivation by Sum41
Mood: Focused
Ok so since the last time a wrote a whole lot of craziness has gone down! Here is a quick overview of life since then......
We had our first big exam in lecture which me and my friends studied for from 5 in the afternoon to about 1 in the morning and then before class for about two hours. And long story short got an 85 which I was quite proud of. It was a good learning experience to say the least. Now I have a general idea of how much to study, what to study, and the best method.
Here are some of the things which we did, that I thought were helpful...
1. Read over your notes on your own
2. Have someone else go over the notes while you listen and ask questions
3. Make Flashcards
4. Test each other with flashcard
5. Reread flashcard out loud before moving on to next one
6. Draw small diagrams of buildings
7. Type notes from class
8. Highlight and or take notes while reading your textbook
9. Take notes in lecture....good ones
10. Remember to sleep
Lets see other than that we have made a few models, done tonnnssssss of drawing, and well realized there just isn't enough time in the day. But our next exam is coming soon which is why I felt that this blog would be beneficial to write and hope that maybe it could help some of the readers who were looking for a new study method.
OHHH and DEFINATELY FORM A STUDY GROUP!! It sounds lame, I know, but it keeps you on track and you wont get distracted on facebook or myspace or looking out the window or cleaning your room for the first time or any other way to procrastinate or should I say .."plan to study after [ FILL IN HERE ] "
So thats all I have to say about that! Peace out!!!! and gooooodddddd luck on the next one

Baby got BACK

Listening to: Bite My Tongue by Reliant K
Mood: Silly
Ok, so if you are reading this you better be sitting down because today was one of those CRAZY days. It was kind of like a Disney movie, come to think of it; starts off somewhat dull and then it begins to climax.....and I mean slaying dragons, Simba's father dying, Aladdin finding the genie type thing. Then of course everything works out in the end and everyone lives happily ever after.
So I guess the best place to start is the beginning when I woke up after pressing the snooze button about 12 (billion)times. Finally, I drag myself out of bed and to the gym because I know if I don't go, come May 4th I am going to die trying to run a marathon. So anyway, I finished up about a quarter after 10 with plenty of time to spare for my 11am class. BUT NOOO MY CLASS IS AT 10!!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!And what do you do in that kind of situation? Run! Run like all hell!!
So I race to my room, still sweaty and gross, grab my drawing design stuff and fly down the stairs. I get half way down and I realize I forgot my model in my room. I throw all of my things down onto the floor, in the middle of the staircase and power back up the stairs, grab the model, and power walk to class with the additional 20lbs of weight. I felt the burn to say the least. Finally, I get to class and sneak in only to find EVERYONE staring at me, and tell me I have to go BACK to my room and get my laptop because we are going to the library today.
Sooooo I run back, get my computer, go BACK to class, and just as I was about to plop down my teacher says, "Oh sorry I gave your chair away." But I made the best of it and just stood (center front desk) and we headed off to the library. Where I was lefttt behind while looking for books!! So once again, what do I do you ask? Run BACK to class and sit there for another hour even grosser then when I started. Attractive I know.
Afterwards I lug all of my belongings to my dorm, shower (thank god), and get ready for math and my job interview. Math at 2 and then grabbed a bite to eat and jumped on the T for Harvard Square. I eventually found the place after nearly an hour and half, good thing my interview wasn't until 4:30 and I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!! I am soooooo relieved that I have somewhere to work and starting pay is $11 an hour. (Thank you collegehelpers.com) But I have to wear a tux, which will be interesting and need to get plugs for my piercings.
Then dinner at 6:30 with Julia, Dylan, and Annie as usual and back to Julia's room where we attempted to do a rubix cube; attempted is the key word in that sentence. Dylan and I managed to complete the green side but it was a disaster after that and almost 2 hours later all we produced was a 10-minute long video of us fighting over it. Ultimately, we ended it up throwing it across the room 3 times and it was put in the freezer for the time being, Dylan said it needed to "chill out." Basically, we just laughed our @$$ off. FYI to all those interested our video will most likely be put on youtube soon for your enjoyment. I will keep you posted in the mean time but until then peace out.
El Finale

Listening to: Oh it is Love by Hellogoodbye
Mood: Chill
So it’s a Sunday night and I just want to say one thing…
IM DONEEEEE IM DONNE I AM FINISHED!!! THE END!! EL FINALE!! WOOT!!
::Shakes butt…dances around room…waves arms in air!!!!!::
Ok so maybe I am just a little excited but hey! I officially finished my first project. It’s for my drawing design class and basically what you had to do is find an object in a toolbox or in the kitchen, then draw it twice using A LOT of construction lines and make two wood models. Construction lines are basically guidelines that help you with angles, proportions, and placements, in other words they make your life easier. For all those architecture majors out there you know what I am talking about, it’s a love hate relationship with them. Well anyway, I did a corkscrew (probably one of the harder things to pick) and I am finished!
As for the rest of my day it was a lazy Sunday here in the big city of Boston. Went to lunch in Beatty with Julia and Dylan and then took a stroll down to Best Buy, Blick, and Shaws to get some water, ink, baking soda, pencils, and nail files. The funny thing about it is, our shopping list is completely logical as weird as it may sound. FYI to all those people building models, instead of wasting the strip of wood with the bar code on it just get a cheap nail file and sand it off. As for the baking soda, well its just one of those things that’s good to have or as Julia says, “you can do almost anything with it, that and white vinegar.” Go figure but she’s right.
Then around 5:30 we headed off to dinner because everything closes at 6:30 and we didn’t want to get shafted out of food like we did yesterday. ALSO another good thing to remember don’t get the salad with the large cubes of “meat” in it..nahhh ahhh bad idea, I don’t think I really have to say more about that.
So that’s about it, nothing too exciting today. It was GORGEOUS out though and made me think of how amazing fall is going to be once it finally comes.

Well here some pictures to put a Name to a Face....

Listening to: One hit by The Knife
Mood: Excited
Ok so this officially my first entry to the blog and well I just want to say HEYYYYY WHATSSSS UPPP WENTWORTH!! I am wicked excited to be writing to you guys and hope you enjoy reading it too.
Well I do have to say one thing…the bookstore finally got our sketch books in today, I don’t think I have ever been more excited about a pile of paper than I am right now. Apparently, they had not ordered enough for all of the architecture kits and Blick, UTrek, and MassArt all didn’t have them either. So anyway after checking in everyday they finally had it so I did my little excited dance and had them ring me up.
Then I went out with a mission to find a job and resume in hand I walked all along Huntington Ave looking for a place to work. No luck yet, but I am determined to find something come hell or high water. Then off to counseling, which I must say is very helpful but I’ll discuss that later on.
Thennnn, after that I headed up to my friend’s room and hung out with my best friends; Julia, Dylan, and Annie (you will probably hear more about them later.) So anyway, we decided to stay in and just hang out, watch a movie, and order Chinese food. An hour and a half later!!! The guy FINALLY delivered it and it was nasty and Julia made Dylan give him a tip anyway. Just so you know we ordered from BAD…just kidding its actually called Nanling, and well it was down right gross. Julia got chicken and broccoli but it tasted like Scallops (gagggggg).
So after that we headed up to my room so they can see how I rearranged the furniture, yes exciting I know. But hey it’s the little things in life that make you happy. Dylan only stayed for a little while then me and Julia stayed up to literally 4 in the morning; I kid you not. We just talked about life and well who would have thought we would have sooooooo much in common. It was a good night.
Master card moment scratch that FENWAY CARD MOMENT:
$24.50 for Chinese food
$3.00 tip to the weird delivery guy
God only knows how much at the C store for 2 pints of ice cream and some recess peanut butter cups…king size.
$1.75 for a drink with a cool glass bottle that we are going to put change in later
Staying up with friends all night…
Priceless
Haha I know I’m crazy but that’s my story. Peace out.
