My name is Dejan Petrovic and I come from a city of Novi Sad, Serbia. I came to the States, to Boston in August 2005 to pursue my college degree at
Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT). Yes, you're right, I came to WIT directly from my country.
I finished high school in Novi Sad, and enrolled in college of Economics there. However, I wasn't very interested in school at the time, and I started
working in an IT company as a Computer Assembler. I moved really fast within the company, and from Computer Assembler, over System Administrator, I've
reached the position of an IT Manager. Nevertheless, I could not move any further without a college degree. I decided to stop everything and look for a
good school abroad with a major in Computer Networking. Since the U.S. was (and still is) the best choice when it comes to studying IT, I looked for
some colleges in Washington D.C., New York, Syracuse and Boston. I found about Wentworth over its web site and I just loved it.
I passed the SAT exam, as well as TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language), I applied, got an Arioch scholarship, sold my apartment and here I am.
Now, I am a Junior in Computer Network and Information Systems (BCNS) and I can say I am doing really well.
When I came here, I also joined the Student Leadership program as a secretary in Residence Hall Association (RHA) and later as a Resident Assistant.
Therefore, I live on campus and I just love it. If you are someone who likes to meet new people and get involved in many different activities, living
on campus is just perfect. I am also a member of Wentworth International Students Club, which helped me a lot in adjusting to completely different
culture. Boston is a beautiful city that reminds me of Europe very much. It has beautiful streets, a lot of parks, Charles river and the Atlantic
Ocean, and half a million students from all over the States and the World.
I am sure I made the right decision and I think you will, too.
