On Sept. 22nd, STEVE FORBES (CEO of Forbes Magazine and former Republican presidential candidate) was at the PHILADELPHIA SPEAKER SERIES. This event is hosted by Widener University and we have GREAT speakers at this event. I got the privilege to go to Philadelphia with a few Widener student to see STEVE FORBES. We also got the opportunity to meet/ take a picture with him, so here it is!

NEW NEWS:
On Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 Paul Rusesabagina (real life hero from Hotel Rwanda) came to our campus! He was also the speaker for the Philadelphia Speaker Series.
On Tuesday, Oct. 28th, 2008 SENATOR BARACK OBAMA came to our CAMPUS!!!!
Widener wrote to both campaigns trying to get them to come to our campus. We were fortunate enough to have Senator Barack Obama in this last effort to sway Pennsylvania voters. Tuesday morning was cold and it was raining the entire time. Through the Presidential Service Corps I got to stand in the bleachers behind him! This was probably the happiest day of my life. It was a great opportunity despite the fact that I was drenched and frozen. Out of all the college campuses in Pennsylvania he came to ours!
Three hours in the cold rain but it was worth it. I hope I don't get sick.
