A Snowball Fight for the Ages and A Night at the Lanes

Hey all! So it’s been a while since I last blogged…things have been busy for me this semester, especially with applying to be a Resident Assistant. An RA is a person who is trained to help out residents with any problems regarding rooming and living in the dorms and also help to build community among the residents. I had wanted to be an RA ever since I came to college, and so far the process has gone well. I was offered a final interview and presented today and felt that it went very well! But despite all of the work that I’ve had this semester, I’ve still been able to have a lot of fun!

About two weeks ago, we had enough snowfall to have a snowball fight on our quad! It was pretty intense and lasted for an hour! What started as an every-man-for-himself battle turned into a quad-versus-the football-players-event after some members of the team showed up looking for a snowball war. But even with good competition, we successfully defended our quad to shouts of “This is Thayer!! (our dorm name). Like I said – pretty intense! Everyone stayed up pretty late that night because we expected a cancellation or delay the next morning. Man were we surprised (and tired) the next morning to find that the snow had been cleared! I have some pictures of what the snowfall looked like around campus, too.

Another cool thing that we did with the PSC was that we went bowling as a group to one of the nearby lanes. Even President Harris came with us and bowled in one of the groups! I always see Dr. Harris around campus – he makes sure that he interacts with the students and stays in touch with them. Bowling was a lot of fun (even though I’m not much of bowler); it was really cool to go somewhere as a group and just hang out.

Well I hope to blog again sooner this time, probably in a week or so. I also plan on taking more pictures around campus so that everyone can put a picture to what I’m talking about. By the way, if anyone has any questions for me, comments about the blog, or advice for what you would like me to discuss, feel free to leave a comment and I will consider it!
