Benefit Concert and Recruitment Dinner
Hey everyone,
It's been a little while since I blogged last. I had kept reminding myself to write again but school has been busy. Trust me, you really cherish that downtime when you get it!
A few weeks ago we hosted a PSC recruitment dinner for all of the incoming freshmen who applied to be in the Presidential Service Corp. It was interesting to talk to many current high school seniors and hear their outlooks on college - I remember being just as anxious and nervous as them just a few months ago! I was asked many questions about life at Widener, the classes, etc. and I enjoyed answering them. I know that I wish a current student had been there to answer all of my questions and quell my fears during that stage of high school, but I turned out just fine.
Last weekend, Widener hosted a benefit rock concert to raise money for the Susan G. Kohmen for the Cure Foundation ( for breast cancer). I helped out as a volunteer and can proudly say that we raised over $400 for the cause! The concert was definitely entertaining as well...check out some of the pics!
I hope to blog soon again and tell you how our next event goes - a Dance-a-thon benefit event! More info on that soon...
