Welcome Back
Well as much as I said that summer was boring compared to school time, I miss it already! I came down two weeks before everyone else this year for RA Training – a really awesome experience. The best thing was that it wasn’t all “RA policy and procedure” stuff, we did a lot of fun and exciting things during those two weeks! For one of our team building exercises, we had to come up with a skit within our team and present it at the talent show. For our team, we wrote our own lyrics to Asher Roth’s “I Love College,” changing the name of the song to “I Love Res Life.” We even had a whole choreographed “dance” that our team performed while two of us sang. We definitely should have won…but we were robbed and finished second haha! A few days later, we went to Villanova’s ropes course and did a bunch of team building activities there. The last challenge was getting everyone on our team up and over this 12-15 foot wall. The hardest thing about that was that we could only have two people on top of the wall helping to pull up, and each person could only help twice.
Anyway, I’m back into the swing of things again. School has been back in session for about a month now. I’ve been extremely busy so far, with working as an RA, an assistant at the SBDC, a tour guide in admissions, in the pep band and wind ensemble among other things…and oh yeah, I have classes, too! Yeah life for me is busy at Widener, but it is so worth it. I love the experiences I’m going through and I learn something new everyday. My residents are keeping me busy as well…I’ve had some interesting things happen on my floor so far, but nothing I couldn’t handle! I’ve been thinking about different programs I can do with my floor, and I think the next thing I’ll be doing will be the Newly-Roomed Game – modeled off of the classic game show the Newlywed Game… so I’ll be sure to post about that and how it goes over next time. Til then, have fun!
